I wasn't ranting a week ago but this event touched me personally. I didn't even realize it until later in the week when one of my old friends reached out to me on Facebook about it. I knew CPT Antonio Brown and worked with him for about six months before he left active duty and moved back to Florida in 2012. He wasn't my "friend", in that we didn't hang out off duty or anything, but we were work friendly if that makes sense. He was a cool dude, always smiling and joking, always willing to help other people out. I remember one day I forgot my lunch and he gave me a big container of melon that he'd brought with him. People knew he was gay but these were the final days of DADT and he was not open about it. He was a good person and he didn't deserve to die like that....no one does. frick Omar Mateen.
