Lots of people in this thread seem a little too upset that their racist flag was taken away.

im not upset about it. all it was originally was a battle flag for some of the confederate armies. It has been used as a tool for hate so im not sad to see it go. i think u jumped into the middle of something. that post is a reply to someone else.

Did I miss it, or did you never answer this question?

I do think that some of this has gone too far. I would have supported them keeping the flags at the graves and some confederate war memorials.

You mean like the confederate war memorial that you're celebrating a flag removal from with this thread

The flag was still on government property. If this was off state house grounds or on someones private property, no problem. Alabama went through this as well when Gov. Bentley took down the flags at the Confederate memorial a few weeks ago. It has no place on the statehouse grounds.

Most war memorials and monuments are on government property. Just admit you're a pussy and get buttmad seeing it anywhere.

One of my friends has it flying in his bedroom, along with the stars and bars and bonnie blue flag. Last time I checked it's coming down in Columbia, among many other places, so what do I have to be butthurt about? My side "won". The only people who are "butthurt" about it are you, Cockopotamus , and those other idiots in the poliboard.

Also you don't even live in SC, so why do you care so much? If the staying up didn't "affect" me then the flag coming down should affect you as well.

How am I a hypocrite if I said that I didn't have a problem with the confederate flag in certain areas? I get that it's on a memorial, but still the fact that the flag is still on capital grounds, then we have a problem. And I'm not saying that they should move the memorial either.

If they put up the original confederate flag, the Stars and Bars, I would't have a problem with it.

Man they just don't get the fact that if this flag wasn't adopted by the anti civil rights racist pos people in the 60's it wouldn't be an issue.

This was voted on by the SC government with the full support of the Governor.

A governor that just happens to be a tater, home of Tillman Hall...named in honor of Ben "Pitchfork" Tillman who happened to be one of the biggest racists in SC history. But that seems to be perfectly acceptable to that hypocritical tater bitch.

What I'm saying, Tide, is that she can't support the removal of the Confederate Flag and leave the memorial to Ben "Pitchfork" Tillman on the Statehouse Grounds w/o being a hypocrite. Maybe it has a little something to do with the fact that she is, very vocally, all about Clemson...who happens to have their main building named after this same man. Maybe it has nothing to do with her ties to Clemson at all and it's my Garnet and Black hatred of all things purple and orange...very possible.
