Now, we heard about this in the spring when confused reporters showed up for spring practice and had no idea who was on the field because nobody was wearing a number. Clark Lea explained it thusly:

“We are going to earn everything in this program,” Lea shared when asked why his players didn’t have numbers on their jerseys. “Until we understand that we rent those numbers, we don’t own them, until we are ready to work within them, leave them better for the next person to wear them, that will come. This is lame. It's Vanderbilt football. It literally doesn't matter, and if this coach has any amount of success, he'll immediately bolt. How about focusing on recruiting, developing players, and getting Vandy to a bowl game instead of whatever bullshite this is. So lame

Boom. You can always out a shite coach ahead of time by their bullshite morale routines. I remember when Ron Zook while at Florida used to require that all media members observing practice stand at all times to reflect some kind of unity with the team or some shite.

Until they get back to playing ball like they did in...uh, uh, nevermind.

How about if they withhold the numbers from his paycheck, until he wins a game as a college head coach?

Well the offensive line will be numbered 50-79, that's a rule requirement.
