Look at the Top 10 highest rated games in the country any given year and half will involve Bama. Bama is the biggest draw. Their biggest opponent will be the biggest game. It's not a 'disgrace' it's good business sense. If you don't like it get a bigger brand

And their biggest opponent this year is going to be A&M, not LSU. I don't have any problem with ALabama getting that slot, I have a problem with the game being decided upon before the season starts.

The problem is that CBS picks which weekend receives the night game before the season even starts, and of course they pick the weekend LSU plays Alabama. But there needs to be some flex in that schedule to avoid featuring a game that will ultimately be AT BEST the fourth most important game in the conference this year.

CBS annual night game

I'm tired of this game going to Alabama/LSU every year. This year will mark sixth straight year this particular game is going to get the one CBS night game of the year, and LSU is unlikely to even be ranked this time. It's a disgrace that every other big conference game has to be played at 2:30 while this game gets an automatic primetime spot.
This defense is bigger, faster and stronger than last year's; They just have no idea what they're doing. Right now, we haven't had our full, first string defense on the field yet. That won't happen until next week. Tonight, A&M is missing a starting DE, a starting LB, and a starting CB. Furthermore, another starting DE, and another starting CB were out for the first half. I won't come close to saying this defense is better than last year's, but I'm going to wait until at least after the Alabama game to pass any sort of judgement on them.
quote:

Ha ha. See! You're basing this off of projected talent. They aren't more talented than last year. Period.

Because 6 quarters is enough time to see that. Let's see how this defense is doing at the end of the year before we compare them to last year. Let's not forget that last year's version had a lot of early struggles.

Where are all the A&M posters that swore this year's def is more talented than last year's. because it not and it isn't close

It is more talented, it's much less experienced though. This defense has more physical talent, but experience trumps talent.

The kid can't help that people snap pictures of him anytime he tries to go anywhere. I don't expect the kid to become a shut-in, so I have no problem with what he's doing. I have a problem with the people taking pictures of him and the TMZ media culture constantly reporting on it. Could you imagine if Matt Leinart had played during this era?
As a student last year, Johnny was probably hungover every game. Dude was crashing parties all season. He'll be fine.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Clowney hype dies down by next year either. I mean, it really only skyrocketed after that hit against Michigan, a hit that took no particular measure of skill or talent.

Clowney said Richardson was the most difficult OL to play against in the SEC last year.

Because he played against all of them.

Well considering he cost us a shot at a natty last year...
A&M brings back 3/5 of their best-in-the-nation offensive line from last year and replaces a senior at center with a sophomore with a pedigree and a sky-high ceiling. Obviously, they're the correct answer.

A bad joke from a fake celebrity account that posts nothing but bad jokes is hardly something to make an entire thread over.

Isn't TAMU and Ole Miss now considered a spread offense? And of course that's what Tebow ran at UF. And LSU beat Oregon a couple of years ago. What about the year Cam was at Auburn (was that considered a spread)? So yeah, I'd say Miles has seen it a few times in the last 6-7yrs.

Spread as in betting. You're not alone though, I thought the exact same thing. I was wonder how Sumlin was 5-3 when A&M only lost 2 games.

Exactly.

People forget that when A&M and Arky agreed to play, the game was supposed to be the marquee OOC game for each school for the next ten years. The move of A&M to the SEC changed that and left A&M without a serious OOC opponent. You can't just schedule a major D1 school. These OOC schedules are agreed upon years in advance. A&M inked deals with Oregon and USC way back in 2009 and those series won't start until 2016 and 2018. The athletic department is doing the best they can to fill that OOC schedule. Right now the best they can do is small schools in Texas that won't have to travel very far.
LSU was #6 when Leak beat them in Death Valley.

All that is admitting is that AJ has a different skill set than Johnny. Tom Brady couldn't duplicate in practice what Vick does, but I don't know anyone that would argue Vick > Brady.
