SEC Loyalty (Missouri in the Cotton Bowl)

Cotton Bowl was difficult for me.
I have always liked Oklahomama State, probably because they are not the Sooners. Maybe it was an "enemy of my enemy" thing. Maybe it was solidarity with another "little brother."
By contrast, I had always considered Missouri (when I even bothered to consider Missouri at all) to be something of a non-entity. Sure, they occasionally fielded a decent football team, but they were just a bunch of hillbillies from ... Missouri.
Then we joined the SEC together.
So, I gritted my teeth and cheered for the Tigers last night. Sometimes it was difficult, but I did it.
By the end of the game, Missouri had won me over. I cannot say that I am a fan or anything of the sort, but the Tigers have my respect.

I find it funny as hell Mizzou and TAMU beat their former Big 12 foes back to back in the Cotton Bowl. Last years Cotton Bowl was better, loved seeing OU get drilled. Their fans was talkin a lot of shite on the SEC about TAMU coming in and doing good, then OU gets smashed in the Cotton Bowl.
You know the Big 12 want to show up the SEC newbies in that bowl. There's a reason the Cotton Bowl wanted Mizzou and TAMU to face their former Big 12 foes. They know the game will be tense, fans will be pumped, etc. I guess they'll have to wait to see if TAMU or Mizzou get in the 2015 Cotton Bowl to teach them a lesson.

I find it funny as hell that absolutely nobody realizes Mizzou has beaten A&M 4 out of the last 5 times they've played.
Appreciate the comments though. I'm with ya on everything else.
PS - After next year, not sure it's going to seem like football not playing you guys all the time. Seems like we've been connected at the hip for some time.

If we limit discussion to College Station itself, the city is located about 60 miles from Houston's suburbs. We are connected by a four-lane, limited-access highway and can be there in an hour.
By contrast, St. Louis (Missouri's largest city) is 58th largest in the nation. The entire State has fewer people than Dallas-Fort Worth. Hence, my conception that Missouri is more rural (hillbilly).
Since Missouri is "fer, fer off" from you and probably beyond your horizon of understanding, I will personalize. Kentucky's best effort is Louisville -- appearing at an impressive 27th the country. Next-best is Lexington, at 62nd.

You got me. Our Yell Leaders and a few others do traditionally wear overalls for specific events, such as Yell Practice.
By your logic, should I expect to see a student wearing this outfit if I were to audit a Chemistry class in Baton Rouge?

While I understand your rational, you came across as a douchebag. The typical "everything is bigger in Texas" arrogance, but I do understand what you were trying to say, just should of said it in a more subtle way.

Same here. I'm thinking more about Mizzou and TAMU beating OU and Okie State in the Cotton Bowl than fighting about hillbillies, size of MO/TX cities, etc.

Stl is unlike any other city, we have a small downtown yes, but not when it comes to suburbs. We have near 4 mil and I think roughly ranked around 15th biggest city, both us and I think Baltimore are this way.
