re: Boise State to an AQ

isn't WVU to the Big12 already a done deal?

Yes. Pitt and Cuse will probably stick around for 2 years instead of paying a higher buyout.

I don't think the Big East is locked into the Orange Bowl. Just the ACC

This is true. WVU has a great rep for traveling to bowl games so we may be a better draw than TCU. But if Okie Lite jumps to #2, I want no part of Bama in the Sugar Bowl.

How about a Big East Vs ACC challenge. I bet ACC could win 8 out of ten easily. The Big East is by far the worst automatic Qualifying conference in college football.

How about you check the Big East vs. ACC records for the past few years
:doublebird: frick you Big East

What happens if either Louisville and/or WV become national powers on a regular basis?
Answer: They'll want an equal share and Dumb and Dumber won't give in...ergo, continued bitching and fragmented loyalty.

I believe WVU was supposed to be getting an equal share the whole time. It was UL that proposed they and Cincy would be fine with taking a smaller share.

And now WV you can see how the Big XII works.

Seems like the hold-ups are you and Louisville.

Apparently our ad met with Rich Rodriguez today.

Wow, is there any evidence to that? I know he got his start at Tulane. A lot of WV people think he's holding out for Arizona or UGA. That would be a huge steal for you.

USCw - Will feel the scholarship reductions, ask Bama.
Oregon - Is good but they stumble every year.
Stanford - What happens after Luck?

O$U - LOL
Michigan - LOL
PSU - LOL
Michigan St. - ?
Wisconsin - TCU
WVU is studying Chris Benoit's brain. That has to be an AQ for AAU status.

I would agree to disagree with that statement. I think the B1G has that title now, but in the shake up I don't think it really matters.

B1G? Really? If you said the Pac12 you could have had an argument. But I would have thought the SEC would realize more than anybody how much the B1G is overrated.

But you're right, in the end it doesn't matter. All that matters is not being the weakest BCS conference left when it's all said and done. Hoepfully the SEC can strike the death blow to the ACC and grab FSU/Clemson/VT and the natural progression towards 4 power conferences can start.
quote:

Ok someone did I can't find a link so I will concede. Mizzou is still getting into the SEC and WV is not. I had no opinion on WV fans on here until I saw the attacks on Mizzou here when there is no reason for them to have any animosity towards them.

It's called passion and desire. Personally, I would have killed a man to get into the SEC. But now that it looks like Mizzou is SEC bound and we're heading to the Big 12, I am perfectly happy. Big 12 is still the 2nd best football conference, 2nd best basketball conference, and if the Big 12 moves to divisions then we will most likely be 1 win away from a BCS game 4/5 years.

I promise you Mizzou would get picked up by a conference. They won't remain INDEPENDENT like WVU did in the past.

You do realize all the Eastern teams were independent up until the 80s, right?

West Virginia has no fricking clue what they are walking into.

Just goes to show you how bad we have it now :wah:

It's been reported that if WVU wanted to leave the BE for the 2012 season, the buyout was negotiated to be around $20mil. Not too bad, WVU was already prepared to pay that if we ended up with the SEC invite. I think the ball's in Mizzou's court right now as to whether or not they are leaving for the SEC right away.
Actually, PSU has regretted the Big 10 move for years now.

Before the Big East, JoePa wanted another form of an Eastern Conference with teams like PSU, Pitt, Cuse, WVU, BC, etc. but they wanted a TX-like deal of TV revenue at the time, so it never came to be.

There are two kinds of people;

those that thinking being in a better conference would make them better

and those that think being in a better conference would make them worse

it is an argument that can not be won by either side. Time will tell.

I think no matter if WVU or Mizzou become #14, either one will see an initial recruiting bump. Two teams who already recruit decently to begin with now getting a chance to play in the best conference. It just depends on whether they would be able to keep it up or not by winning some big games and staying relevant in the SEC.
Who is he? I don't necessarily believe the guy, but I've never heard of him before.
We don't give a shite, we're not trying to frick. We just want to hang out and drink with the guys.
If WVU and Mizzou are 14/15, I really believe FSU would be #16.
