I don’t know her story, but I have a friend that lives in that area. In the fall, there was a homeless encampment inside the old car wash of the gas station on the corner. Not sure, if they have cleared them out or not.

Mt Carmel and CHS-NI wasn’t a true consolidation. It is my understanding that CHS wanted to merge for years, but the nuns always said no. Reason being, CHS was owned by the four church parishes in NI, whereas Mt. Carmel was owned by the Carmelite Order. I graduated in ‘83 from MCA and I believe they started with cross registration for certain classes a year or two after. After a few years, CHS said they were going to start admitting girls full time.MCA closed in 1988, still one of the saddest days on Bayou Teche. Many teachers from MCA went on to teach at CHS and the Mt. Carmel community is very grateful that many of our traditions were graciously incorporated by CHS.
I had Econ 4210 in the late ‘80’s with a guy friend from back home. One Friday, we’re sitting in class and he’s rambling on about this girl he met at their exchange the night before. Professor kept eyeballing us, so I told him a few times to be quiet. Next thing you know, the professor throws two pieces of chalk at us. One hits the back of the empty wooden desk in front of us and splinters hitting others in the class.
I have worked with two, both girl to guy. You would have never known, unless you were told. Never any drama or issues.
We’ve had our Rachio for about four or five years. We absolutely love it. Our grass has never been greener.

We live in Woodcreek Reserve. Technically, we were probably supposed to get approval because it is above our fence. We have never been cited and I have five other neighbors our immediate vicinity that also have houses. Check your deeds and restrictions, but I doubt you would be denied if you asked for approval to put one up. This year might be too late, though.
My husband gets undressed all over the house. I have to search all of his usual spots every morning.

Nope…a kiosk can do that.
As a former sorority girl, this sickens me. If I were a DZ alum, they would not see another penny from me. As it is, my sorority has changed parts of our rituals, so as not to offend. Excuse me, it isn’t offensive and never was…it’s the principles we were founded upon!!!!!
Much better results with yaupons compared to boxwoods. The blight has been tough on boxwoods in the Houston area and they haven’t done well during the freezes either, despite being f covered.

We’ve been to the one in Katy, as it’s about 15 minutes from our house. It was alright. If you want a great Italian Beef, follow Brett’s BBQ and look for when they have them as a special item. Fricking phenomenal.
My husband has been laid off on five separate occasions in 30 years. Four facility/business closures and one RIF. Shortest time between jobs was three weeks, longest four months. It absolutely sucks, but it made us stronger as a couple.

I was diagnosed with kidney cancer four years ago(March ‘21). I had just started to make life changes six weeks prior to getting healthier. That diagnosis really kicked my butt into gear. Getting ready to undergo CT scans in a few weeks to check for any reoccurrence.

My first car was an ‘83 Cutlass Supreme. I still remember going to the dealership with my dad to place the order. It arrived right before Christmas. I loved that car. It will always be one of my favorites. The stories it could tell…

Can we just be glad for this young man? He was a bright spot when he was a freshman, but unfortunately followed it up with a tough season for him. I wish he could have stayed at LSU, but glad he found a spot that wound up being good for him. He seems like a great guy and he and his family are going through a terrible time.

Great Harvest or the Best Stop in Katy brings in Gambino’s.
I never worked there, but two of my college neighbors did(1989-1990). They were definitely not pre-breaded back then. In fact, the slices were way too thick and didn’t melt through all the time. They started cutting them slightly thinner to get a better product.
