re: Scale of 1-10, how bad....

Thanks. I love college football and you will not believe the flak I took as a Southerner back in 60's and 70's. I remember being told we didn't play anyone; well, guess what in the 70's I was living in Dayton, Ohio, just up the road from Ohio State, and LSU actuall played and beat the hell out of WISCONSIN two consecutive years. Suddenly, it was oh, but Wisconsin is not too good this year. Give me a freaken break, they were in the Big 10, right. I also made the trip from Dayton to South Bend in 1971 when Lsu played ND. I actually sat in the ND student section with a friends student brother. You can imagine the crap we heard before the game about how they would whip the Southern bumbs. Well, they did, ND won 3-0 with help from a rediculous pass interference call in 4th quarter leading to winning ND FG. Have a great year. I'm thinking most Lsu fans are ready to forget football and basketball for awhile and start watching a little Tiger baseball.

Of course it counts, but according to the rules of that time and later times, those were not legitamate NC. You may have had the best team in some years, but they were NOT NC. that can be sai of many great programs.

They just can't face the fact that they have lost two consecutive NC games to an SEC team. Plus SEC went 3-0 vs Big 12 in bowls..

you mean someone actually watches that creep?

I have been around for many years and I've always tried to be fair and reasonable to other institutions, including other conferences, etc. I have lived and worked all over this great country and around the world, and back in the '60 it was amazing how much disrespect any team from south of the MD got; I knew and worked with guys from many schools and anytime the subject of football came up the Lsu and The SEC were rediculed for not playing anyone.... like the mighty Big 10.. Well, my point now is that NC were ALWAYS about AP and UPI MNC, and NONE of these rediculous off the wall polls ever meant anything. One could look in any record book and that's the way it was and now everyone wants to change the rules. Heck, even Arkansas claiming a NC in 1964 is BS. I challange anyone to look in the records for NC and they will not find Arkansas or OLe MIss.
re: Dan Le Batard

Le Batard is a real Miami jerk. I spent two years in South Florida and could not stand to watch him or read his biased columns; he hates the SEC much like the rest of South Florida he thinks everybody north of Ft. Lauderdale are red neck idiots.

Overall I think they've been pretty good and haven't seen much "in your face" to the rest of the SEC. But I do have one question before giving a final score; Are Bama fans admiting that this is NC #8 as reported by ESPN and all reasonable sources, or do they insist on this being #13. I'm very cool with any Bama fan who expresses pride in another NC and wants to blow their horn a little for NC #8 instead of the rediculous #13 NC. If Bama insists on 13 that will be another display of arrogance and telling the rest of the SEC that Bama thinks they are all stupid....

Hey Texas, want to join the SEC?? How does it feel to lose two consecutive NC games to SEC teams. LSU in baseball an Bama in football?
re: Bama Arrogance is amazing
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/28/09 at 8:14 pm
You are right on, my friend; it is truly a nauseating thing to see how they worship themselves and want everyone to believe that they are SEC football. We all know that the "A" on thier logo stands for arrogance. Good luck if you ever go there for a road game; their outpouring of personal insults to visiting fans is never ending.
re: To all the LSU fans making threads about Mallet
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/27/09 at 7:20 pm
Oh my goodness, Mallett is returning, maybe LSU ought to just consider conceiding the game. But wait, if memory serves me correctly,LSU has about a 15 game edge in this series, so maybe they might just decide to play the game next year afterall. And that include kicking their undefeated hog asses in the '64 Cotton Bowl, when of course the Tigers had no chance in hell to win that game. Why don't you just go call a few pigs and let Lsu worry about beating arkansas again when the time arrives.
re: The arrogance is overwhelming...
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/14/09 at 11:45 am
Didn't you know that the "A" in their logo stands for arrogance. And believe me that is not confined to their younger fans. That has been the gripe of most SEC fans for many years; they think they are the SEC and tend to look down their noses at the rest of the teams in this great conference. It will be very difficult to pull for those arrogant asswholes in the NCG
re: Has LSU ever won a true undisputed national championship?
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/9/09 at 3:51 pm
That is a stupid statement; How dumb can you be? LSU won the outright NC on the field in 2003 and 2007 according to the rules of the NCAA. The NCAA BCS rules say absolutely nothing about having to be undefeated to win the NC.
re: BAMA SEC Champs the norm
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/7/09 at 12:05 pm
Agree with you. Those arrogant assholes can't just enjoy their championship without disrespecting the other sec member schools. Everyone knows they have won the most championships over the years, and that is certainly a good thing for them and something to be proud of. But that does not take away from the contributions and traditions of the other members. The gumps are so full of themselves it just makes one want to puke... on them no less. I don't pull against them in their non conference games, but when someone like UTAH kicks their arse I certainly don't feel sorry for them.
re: Opinions from Texas
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/6/09 at 2:23 pm
Yeah, well that certainly explains Ole Miss beating Texas Tech, Arkansas beating AM, LSU beating unbeatable OU in 2003 NC game, etc., etc.
re: Is it Okay
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 12/6/09 at 2:13 pm
Being proud is expected and certainly justified. Just please don't be your normal arrogance assholes with noses in the air at the rest of the SEC. Most bama fans believe that they are the SEC and refuse to give credit to any of the other proud institutions with great football traditions. We have both obnoxious and arrogance in the SEC and I will take obnoxious over arrogance any day.

Apparently you need to put some glasses on. If you review that play in slow mo you will definitely see that he did NOT lead with the helement. It was a clean all football hit.
re: 10 reasons a columnist from Ole Miss hates LSU
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 11/20/09 at 6:24 pm
I think he missed at least a couple of more reasons, like in 1960 when an unranked 4 win LSU tied #2 olemiss to wreck another rebel season, and 1961 when LSU beat #1 olemiss to do it again. But hey, olemiss is famous for something like the campus riots back in the early 60's. And tomorrow they will have white sheeted visitors to remind them of that. What an awhole the guy that wrote that mindless article must be.
re: WAC commisioner calls out SEC officials
Posted by LooongTimeATiger on 11/19/09 at 2:25 pm
Whether or not anyone thinks that Lsu could have or should have beaten alabama is not the point. The point is that Lsu was deprived of an opportunity to try to score, an opportunity that they clearly earned on the field of play but was denied them by an inept, or possibly biased official that could not see what millions of others saw. And add that to at least 4 other calls/no calls in alabamas favor, and any fair minded person has to admit that the officiating could have influenced the outcome of that game.

None of you have the slighest clue of what the hell is going on, so why don't all of you just shut up and quit spreading rumors.

I would think that is no worse than some gumpy looking red neck walking around with a roll of toilet paper on a stick and a box of tide hollering roll tide roll.
