re: OC and OL coach search....

Well it was definitely the most convenient hire to go with Sheridan. I still believe if we're hiring with the intention to do damage to other SEC schools and money is no object, we go get someone like AJ Milwee if we're just trying to get a q.b. coach and oc in name only or Kirby Moore if we're trying to find familiarity along with sec ties.

"Board of Directors?? surely you jest."

Well it was well known Saban came in and immediately took control over the Alabama football program away from the trustees, boosters, and other administrators who had been involved. Just curious if Deboer is allowing any type of influence from those types of sources.
I know it's too early to tell and I could be absolutely wrong. I just enjoyed someone like Saban coming in and saying "this is what we're doing, get the "frick" out of my way".

One thing for certain is the type of coaches K.Deboer hires. None are what I would call "known power house recruiters" and very few ties with recruiting in SEC country. The only ones I see being in the top 100 would Roach and Gillespie.
Saban owned recruiting in Florida and did pretty well pulling kids from Georgia to Texas.

Does anyone feel like maybe someone with the board of directors, boosters, etc. are suggesting these hires? Or maybe it's the board trying to lower the financial cost of paying top coaches and instead funnel it into our NIL fund?
Ellis' alma mater being UAB as well as where he was a GA. Maybe has connections with someone at U.A.
I think Chris Kapilovic is one of the higher paid OL coaches, around 1million, so maybe tapping Sheridan as the oc was to get more money in the budget for the OL coach?

I'm just spitballing things is all, don't jump on me about it. lol, Just makes me curious about these less flashy hires being made to replace someone like Grubb, Huff, etc.

Ryan Trevathan, any word on his role? I seen he had posted on his Twitter "Swarm D". I believe he was at Arkansas Tech as OC/WR coach. Maybe analysis? Hopefully nothing in the WR coaching category..

Well one of my all time favorite CNS quote is,

"You know what my goal with spring practice is? Get the right guys on the bus, get them in the right seats, and get the wrong guys off the bus." Saban

In this case, goes for coaches too! I'd rather them leave now then half-arse it all season looking for greener pastures. I have full faith in De-man's offense ability. (ALL the interest we've garnered from that side of the ball drive that point home.)
Just GOT TO nail an OL coach that can develop and recruit.

I'm really excited to see how our pitching rotation rounds out. I expect Murph to see if Jaala Torrence can be the leader because of seniority but Kayla Beaver and Alea Johnson to be pushing for 1a./1b. type of roll.

I don't think Esman is going to pitch much. Hopefully they'll ship her the bat she used in Michigan and can be serviceable in the lineup.

I just don't see Salter not considering hitting the portal.

I'd love to see our offense to be a strength again without having to rely on a "Fouts" type of pitcher to keep us in games.
I'm thinking you'd need two dB/s/cb coaches in that position. The 4-2-5 basically is two dBs that takes out the OLB position. Then those extra dbs turn into edge guys or drop in coverage. Again, I'm still learning the scheme myself.
Maybe DeBoer is working on his staff.. I surely hope so? But I believe having a position coach, (someone not from Fresno) would ease a lot of these player's minds. Still needing a CB and linebackers/special teams coordinator. Preferably someone that excels in recruiting out in Florida and Texas. Maybe like a Sterling Lucas from uSC or TJ Rushing from TA&M.
Make some waves and demand we spend big money on some hires or something. Give the guy a title like assistant HC of assistant HC. Even if the guy doesn't specialize in the 4-2-5 defense, most coaches know concepts and can teach.
