This is what is coming. SEC will stay at 16 teams for payout reasons. There will be 4 regional pods with the winner of each region playing in a 4 team SEC playoff.
East ~ Fl, Ga, USC, UK
SE ~ Tn, Vandy, Bama, UA
SW ~ Ark, LSU, Miss, Miss St
West ~ Miz, OU, Tex, Gomer
This will bring in bigger or equal ratings to a playoff.
This year ~ UGA vs Bama / Miss vs Tex/Gomer
East ~ Fl, Ga, USC, UK
SE ~ Tn, Vandy, Bama, UA
SW ~ Ark, LSU, Miss, Miss St
West ~ Miz, OU, Tex, Gomer
This will bring in bigger or equal ratings to a playoff.

If the SEC adds 4 more teams and goes to regional pods, I think a pod of misery, piggy, blou, gomer, and horns would be great. If the SEC goes to 24 teams, add corndog. Since the teams were originally from the SWC (Southwest Conference) and the Big 8, it would be called the SWIG 5 or 6. Perfect for the SEC.

My favorite conference was the original Big 12. It was the strongest conference. It is too bad that some schools were so butt hurt that they took their balls and ran elsewhere. Texas gets the blame, but truthfully, Texas won a lot and wins a lot. Inflation is going to take a huge toll on all of us. It will destroy the budgets of the marginal schools in every league. I don't expect any cohesion among these conferences with the new schools joining. I expect a lot of contention from the beginning.
