re: Is Clemson Better than Alabama/Auburn?

This. OSU probably should have won like 42-20. OSU errors along with questionable officiating errors ended with Clemson winning. It is what it is, but OSU was a superior team, and it wasn't really that close
And if a grasshopper toted a gun, a chicken wouldn't frick with him.
Down 16-0, Clemson went on a 29-7 run to win that game. In addition to the 2 picks Fields threw, we dropped 2 more picks, one of which would've went for 6. Missing one of the best wideouts in America the entire 1st half, and WR2 Ross was in and out of the game all night with injuries.
So yeah, OSU could've won that game, or the final score could have been even more slanted in Clemson's favor. Superior team my arse.

I don’t know anyone that thinks 2018 was the best Alabama team of the Saban era, let alone the best college football team ever.
You've got a short memory then. Maybe all that talk died down after we whooped them, but before they were talking about them they same way they talk about LSU now. OMG could this be the greatest football team of all time!?!?!?!

Burrow had eight touchdowns and close to 500 yards in 2 1/2 quarters Against the big 12 champs
So I think your excuse is lame
Burrow averages 25% more attempts on a per game basis. Adds up to 100 more attempts over the season.
And you can call them Big 12 champs if that makes it sound better, but it was frickin Oklahoma with 3 defensive starters out who your own staff said was like the 5th best team you've played.

This place is a cesspool. All you fricks calling out a player's mom for some innocent tweet. How about you fricks google her and read a story about her journey and the path her and her son took to get here.
It's been fun to banter over here, and I know tigernet has some real "winners" but you guys truly wallow in a shite pit.

He is overrated. He's a good college QB and has the measurables but I never expected Clemson to get a QB as good as Watson right after Watson.
Man this is rich considering what he did to your team last time around.

Why does he just have above average numbers against the high school schedule they played?
3,431 yards, 36 touchdowns, 8 picks
Honest answer: We are much more balanced offensively than LSU.
Clemson: #12 Rushing Offense @ 246 yds/game
LSU: #61 Rushing Offense @ 167 yds/game
Also, most of our games were over by halftime and Lawrence was sitting on the sideline watching our backups get reps.
As far as his early season struggles, he was trying to do to much. Throwing into coverage and not hitting his checkdowns. He's since remedied that and hasn't thrown a pick since mid-October.
re: Clemson Fans: Cry if you want, but LSU has simply beaten better teams this year

Given how OSU exposed Clemson's defensive vulnerability in the short-to-midrange game, I think Bama would have feasted on them this year. If Tua was healthy, quick slants would have destroyed Clemson. And after watching what the OSU running back did to them, Najee Harris would have gone full Abrams Tank on Clemson.
This is the laziest analysis I've ever seen. Giving up the short stuff to OSU was by design, Einstein. And it's funny you bring up Bama because it's the same scheme we ran against them in the natty. Don't give up the big plays over the top, restrict them to the short stuff, and clamp down in the RZ. When a team is forced to dink and dunk you down the field all night, they eventually make mistakes. We are 2nd nationally in interceptions and 5th in turnover margin. And if they don't make a mistake, then you hold them to FGs inside the 20. Bama got 400+ yards against this scheme last year, 16 points. OSU got 500+ yards, 23 points.
Fields threw 1 int all year. He had two Saturday night. We also dropped 2 picks, one of which would have went for 6.
LSU may win this game, but they are going to have to do it methodically and mistake free. You have the best redzone offense in the nation, we have the best redzone D in the nation. Also the best passing D in the nation. How you convert in the RZ will ultimately decide this game.
I'm also tempted to downvote you strictly because you think Florida could beat us. I won't bother, but I will encourage you to seek help.

Then there will be a whole lot of bama dick riding on this board for Clemson like there was LSU last year.
re: Check out these Nike Clemson championship game shirts
Posted by thatothertiger on 12/30/19 at 10:29 am
These are made by Nike, not Clemson. Nike also made the same shirt for the other 3 playoff teams.
Also, these are an abomination and Clemson University has enough sense to know that maybe 3 actual Clemson fans would even buy this shite.

re: Ohio State was cheated

I understand how everyone thinks OSU got shafted, and Clemson did get lucky on that "fumble". But holy hell OSU caught some breaks that game too.
First possession of the game we lose our WR1 and one of the top receivers in the country for the entire 1st half on a freak injury. Our WR2, Ross, was in and out the game with injuries. We dropped a sure pick 6, and dropped at least two more picks. Fields could have finished with 5 picks.
You want to say OSU let us off the hook, you could just as easily claim that we let them off the hook. That one "fumble" play has put blinders on everybody.

This time last year, every LSU fan on this board was dick riding us after beating Bama. Thin line between love and hate I guess.

re: Dabo doesn't stop complaining
Posted by thatothertiger on 12/12/19 at 10:04 pm
It has nothing to do with LSU and everything to do with OU. OU is being straight disrespected by everybody and has been completely written off this game. I guarantee that OU players have taken notice. Especially Hurts. Hurts is the last player in CFB that I would want to give extra motivation to. And he'll have the most playoff/big game experience BY FAR of any QB in the playoff. This could turn into a shootout.

Not a blow out for either side. Vegas has Clemson -4 or something right now. But we have OSU to worry about. And I hope LSU is worrying about OU. Sounds to me like LSU has won that game already the way people are talking.

Congrats to LSU. I'm sure your boys are so proud. Clemson has its eye on the only award that matters. Five years from now no one will remember who won the davey crocket award or whatever it's called. They'll remember this dynasty, and maybe how LSU was kind of good that one year.
re: This myth about Clemson untested
Posted by thatothertiger on 12/11/19 at 5:49 pm
Personally, I have no issue with being #3. It's only fair. I'll also gladly admit that our schedule is dog shite. My issue is with two recurring arguments I keep seeing on TV and social media.
1) "Clemson is at a disadvantage because they are untested." I don't see how this argument keeps getting thrown around based on our results the last 4 years. Nothing further needs to be said on this gob shite.
2) "Clemson has an advantage because they show up to the playoff healthy and rested due to their dog shite schedule. SEC teams are beaten down after that grueling schedule". Between 2006-2012, the SEC won 7 national titles in a row. An unprecedented run of dominance that cemented the SEC at the top of the cfb world. This run seems highly unlikely if SEC teams were worn down like we're led to believe.
So, to wrap up: No, Clemson hasn't been tested but it doesn't matter. And when Clemson wins it all again, we don't need to hear about how tired/injured OSU or LSU was. LSU certainly didn't look tired against UGA.

re: Why is Dabo so insufferable about it all?
Posted by thatothertiger on 12/9/19 at 5:22 am
Granted, Dabo may have went a little too far. But he does have a point. It's understandable if folks want to attack our schedule. We know it sucks. But certain players on this team have accomplished some special things this year, but didn't get the recognition he felt they deserved because the quality of our competition was held against them. It started with Ettiene being left off the Doak Walker finalist list. Love him or hate him, Dabo has always been very vocal in defense of his players and team.
re: Clemson fans, who do you think is #1 (other than Clemson)
Posted by thatothertiger on 12/8/19 at 8:53 am
LSU. Yesterday put them there IMO. With a 2nd standout defensive performance to show A&M wasn't a fluke, they deserve to be #1.
