re: LSU and PSU Are Opposite Sides of the Same Coin

LSU has 6 SEC titles since 1970.
LSU fans have chastised other fanbases for years about living in the past. Around 1970 is when SEC football became fully integrated. Surely LSU fans don’t want to count anything that happened before then. Thus LSU has 6 SEC conference titles.
Perhaps you should use this same philosophy when claiming 18 total natties. We all know that's not the case.

It would be nice to use some real facts in your post. For example, LSU has 12 SEC championships and only claims 4 National Championships. Unlike Bama who claims 18 but really only has about 10, if that. Claiming titles that were given by anyone other than the AP or UPI/coaches poll pre BCS is laughable at best. Even claiming the ‘79 title is questionable because USC beat your arse like you stole something. Also, in the 60’s you routinely were awarded natties then got your shite pushed in in your bowl games. Really, if you’re being honest with yourselves, only the Saban years, ‘93 and some non modern era seasons are worthy of any titles. At least all of LSU’s titles are legitimate.

Brando is about Brando and nothing else. He’ll do anything to promote himself and his opinions. Also, his daughter went to OM, and he has no allegiance to LSU. Total douche!

Was at this game with my brother. We were sitting in the first row of the upper deck in the southeast corner. Saw it coming before it happened, I think several people did. A true decleater.

I’ve never understood anyone wanting this dude. The roster is 85% black, he was fired for making racist remarks. How do think this goes in living rooms with other coaches bringing it up.
He’s mediocre at best!
Jeez, the stupidity on this board is off the rails!

You can go back to the beginning of college football if you want and find successes and failures. My whole point is that you can get a coordinator that can be successful, or a G5 coach and be successful. This is turning into an NFL type model. Where do most of the head coaches come from in the NFL? Yep, the coordinator ranks. And I'm not advocating that you have to go this route, I'm just saying you can have a great deal of success if that's what you decide to do.
But we all know if LSU does hire a coordinator instead of a "proven" HC this board will burn to the ground! Lol

I don't think it's cherry picking when over half of the CFP coaches came from the coordinator ranks. I left off Brent Key at GT, and Ferentz at Iowa so 12 instead of 10. Of the top 20, how many came from P4 schools? Five. So 60% were coordinators and 25% came from P4 positions. Three came from G5 schools.
There's plenty of failures as well in both the coordinator and P4 hires. But why break the bank with buyouts when NIL is where the money needs to be spent. Most coaches will tell you it's about the Jimmy's and Joe's not the X's and O's.

I’m curious as to why the majority of the people on this board think LSU needs to hire a big name power conference coach as opposed to a coordinator that will cost much less in the beginning. The following head coaches were coordinators prior to their current position:
Ryan Day OSU
Kirby Smart UGA
Dan Lanning Oregon
Marcus Freeman ND
Kyle Whittingham Utah
Steve Sarkisian Texas-does have HC experience
Brent Venables OU
Joey McGuire TT
Kalani Sitaki BYU
Clark Lea Vandy
All are ranked in the CFP playoffs.
We could get Glenn Schuman at UGA, Will Stein at Oregon just to name a few.

Exactly. Dropping 8 guys to cover 4 receivers, basically everyone is double covered, and because Nuss won't run they can play man or zone or a combination. The only thing open is underneath stuff and if you don't get 4+ yards on first down then it makes second and third down that much harder. Plus, Nuss does not have the same zip on the ball he did last year. So it doesn't matter if they only rush 3, eventually they will get to him. We ran the ball 9 times for 57 yards. That's over 6 yards per carry, and yes many were jet sweeps, etc, but that's part of it.
