Can you give me your email address so I can send you my contact information?

I'll save you some of the drive, I have one I will be happy to part with for $200 in Birmingham. Same situation, don't use it anymore. On a stand with wheels, just need to clean it up.

I've had APL (3 years in remission) and John Metchie is going to come through this just fine and be 100%. The only issue is it takes a long time to go through treatment with Vitamin A and Arsenic. 9 months of treatment but not the extremes you have with chemo. As long as he makes it through the first 2 weeks of inpatient care (28 days) it should be a breeze for him! Best of luck to him and his family.

Yep, I believe their plan is to open in Fairhope.
Harsin to Arizona State?

If Herm Edwards were to get fired, and it's looking likely, Harsin could be a good fit out there. Might work out best for all parties.

Marcus and Demarcus Ware never played together. I graduated with Marcus in 96 and ended up coaching Demarcus in Baseball a couple of years later. I do think Demarcus and Obi might have played together, not sure. Demarcus played WR too if I remember correctly....It seems like since the Ruben Foster crap we haven't had much luck at AHS

Win Lyle was a walk on so I doubt there was a lot of recruiting going on but I think we have had a couple of local products, mostly from Opelika. Auburn High had Marcus Washington, John Sullen and Phillip Yost. Montae Pitts played at Loachapoka but he grew up in Auburn. Opelika had Tez Doolittle, Tommy Jackson, Will Herring, Lamarcus Rowell. All of those are from years ago though. Not sure what the issue is lately.

I grew up with them as well. Both Robyn and Brandy were great girls and brilliant as well. Tragedy doesn't begin to describe this situation.

He's driving like a man on the freeway on his way home from work...

Ha! I'm sure I know you or your family, I have older siblings that were at AHS around the time you are talking about. I also am well aware of Joe "Toddy" Younglbood. Nice guy, but tough. Jason Harkins was also a stud pitcher that I remember. He ended up punting in college.
I was at the Hueytown games at Plainsman Park and remember AHS winning although I was young.
AHS also had a monster basketball team in 87 that got robbed. Great athletics in the area, always.
I don't want to hijack the board but agree it is nice to meet another AHS alum.

He has some the best stories and was a hell of an athlete back in his day. Great at basketball too. When he first came to Auburn, he and Tommy Youngblood were coaches. Watching them take batting practice was a humbling experience as a 15 year old.

I played for Cimo a long time ago and he is a great coach. I've also talked to him about travel ball and another point which I don't think has been covered is the emphasis on individual performance vs team performance in that environment. He often would bring up how some of his pitchers would travel, throw 2 innings and then leave. I know he thought that did little for the kids mental approach to teamwork and toughness. I tend to agree.
With that said I think Cimo's best attributes have been his mental approach and his emphasis on strength training. Both of those have done more for his players than any travel ball program possibly could.
As you mentioned it doesn't suck to have tons of pitching talent in high school either, which only came later in his tenure....
Cimo is the salt of the earth, love the guy.

Hail to the Chiz, not sure. I usually just lurk and actually had even forgotten my account password. I'm just a big fan of Briles as an OC and this was the first time in a long time I felt compelled to post.

I hope UTenn screws up and doesn't take Briles and we get in the conversation. Let him bring in his RB and OL coaches. Wherever he goes will instantly see more points on the board.

Schiano would have been a great choice before he got burned to the ground by Tennessee. Now you can't touch him.
Gus may be what is holding up Jimbo Fisher. If he is still in place I could see him coming to AU.
