I think a lot of people are missing the point. OM is facing some serious penalties no matter how you slice it.

With that said, the introduction of the Rebel Rags civil suit creates a whole new complexity. I am sure the NCAA's in house council is reviewing parts of the investigation. Not to determine If OM is guilty or not, but to analyze their exposure to liability. It would seem to be the most prudent route any organization would take.
The probability for Freeze to win a settlement would increase. If Rebel Rags wins its case, it would prove malfeasance on the NCAA’s part for conducting a sloppy investigation. I not arguing OM’s innocence, but the NCAA new rules on a coach’s culpability in lack of institutional control. A court of law is not the same as COI.
If Rebel Rags wins their suit. The depositions of Leo Lewis and company will be on public record. If the senerio happens when Hugh Freeze is terminated or given a show cause. He technically could bring a civil suit against the NCAA.
