re: * No MSU did not win the championship

I’m sorry. I’m pro NC State in that whole situation but this is the dumbest take I have ever seen. If anything, Mississippi State was heavily inconvenienced by that whole situation.

Vaccinated NC State players were tested though.

Maybe next season Ole Miss can get players over 6’ who win games like guys who are under 6’.

Fire Cohen, let the board of directors decide on a new AD then let them make a new basketball hire.

Don’t ever think MSU recruited him hard if at all. Also don’t be surprised when Altmyers dad becomes the new team doctor at Ole Miss.

I’m horrified at the thought of Leach not putting too much care into defense. Especially in the SEC West.

The whole month of November would be incredible on twitter dot com.

Given who I feel are realistic candidates for a hire, I think Skip Holtz might be my favorite.

I mean, yeah. But in my opinion (which doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things) we need to be going after a young guy with a long career ahead of him. Not a nut job who shares memes on his twitter daily. He has been described as a “ticking time bomb of embarrassment”, and the absolute last thing that Mississippi State needs is a large scale embarrassment after this shite show of a coaching hire.

Steve Robertson has reported that Mike Leach is a the dark horse candidate for the HC position. Apparently Cohen has a fascination with him.
If we hire Mike Leach for some reason, I am done with Mississippi State football for life and will welcome the firing of Cohen.

Pete Thames and other national sports writers all now reporting that there are discussions to remove Moorhead.

Agreed. I work too damn hard for my money to waste it on this program. I have a wife and a almost 6 month old who goes through more diapers than I ever could have anticipated.
Like it or not, Mississippi is a blue collar state. This program has always had a reputation as blue collar. When Moorhead came in and started talking about changing the culture, I think a lot of people thought of that as a slap in the face.
Maybe I’m way off base here. Just my point of view.

If I’m Cohen, I move on from Moorhead. This allows him to somewhat save face. Then, I go to all of the big money donors with a plan. I’m talking names of potential HCs and solid ideas on how you will go about getting these names here. Then raise as much money as possible.
At this point you’re going to have to throw out bigger money than we have as of late to get any coach worth a shite.

Agreed. Why make staff changes this offseason when you’re more than likely bringing in a new HC next year? Who is going to move their family to Starkville for less than a year?
My opinion (not that it means anything at all in this situation) is to rip off the bandaid. Fire Moorhead, throw a bunch of money at a Napier or P.J. Fleck type. Let them hire the staff they want with however much money it takes and let them hold this signing class together and get to recruiting/coaching.

State of the Program

This topic has been covered plenty on the rant and other message boards, but I feel after the bowl game that it could be revisited.
We have been spoiled as a fan base for this past decade. Dan Mullen took us to levels we hadn’t been to before, and, by the looks of it, won’t be back at for a very long time.
Everyone says that Moorhead is a players coach. Don’t misunderstand, I don’t think that it is a bad thing to be that. My concern with it though comes from a “this team is soft” standpoint. We used to have the reputation of less talent, more physical. Teams would be limping off the field after playing us, whether they won or not. I don’t know whether it is the S&C coaches fault or what, but something has got to change. I miss the fire that Dan had on the sidelines at all times, whether we were winning or losing.
Everyone was talking about the fight between Gay and Shrader last week. My thoughts are somewhat unclear on the topic, so I’ll leave it at this. Moorhead has lost control and the respect of this team.
I don’t know what the future holds for Mississippi State football, but it is not good right now. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts after the bowl game and projections for our future.

I don’t know, I think he is a broken man. He just looks defeated to me. I could definitely see him walking away from Mississippi State for a job at Rutgers or an equivalent for less money but also much less pressure.
Future of Moorhead

I have good word from a coworker that there was a remax agent seen leaving Moorhead’s house this past week. To me that means that either he is getting ready in case he gets fired after the Egg Bowl, or that both he and the University have agreed to part ways no matter the outcome of the game.
He has not been wearing any Mississippi State attire for the past two weeks in press conferences, so I lean more towards the latter.
