They've been losing about 2 million viewers a year since then, so more and more production isn't helping. 2015 they had close to 115 million viewers and have steadily declined and dropped down to 98 and 95 million the last couple years.

“Sunday’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles was the third most-watched Super Bowl ever, as the NFL continues to attract record audiences. The 113 million total audience tops the 112 million Americans who watched last year’s super bowl but falls short of 2015’s record audience of 114.4 million.”

“Rihanna’s halftime show averaged 118.7 million viewers, per Fox, a 15% from the 103.4 million average audience for the 2022 halftime show featuring Dr. Dre.”

So viewership isn’t declining year after year, and people tune in even more for the excess entertainment than they do the actual game.

This is due to streaming becoming more popular each year. Pretty steady average around 110-115 million viewers across all platforms the last 10+ years. Rams/bengals was 112 million last year.
Have you watched a super bowl before?

when you dilute the game so much that fans of the actual game start to go away or ignore it, the other viewers will go away as well.

No, no they won’t.
Weird to like or dislike any player really, unless you are middle school age or below or know the player personally.

He doesn’t do this kind of outlandish shite for attention,

Yeah not like he goes on a popular podcast once a week to talk about all this outlandish stuff. Just keeps it to himself.

Chiefs have so much more motivation to win than the Eagles do. No one will perceive the Eagles as being disappointments if they lose. They will perceive this as being the first year the door has opened for the Eagles to win a championship and that door will stay open win or lose. The media will pile on the Chiefs and declare them to be underachievers and will somehow compose a narrative that this will be the beginning of the end of their reign at the top of the NFL if they lose.

This is so dumb. You think JuJu is more motivated than AJ Brown to win the super bowl bc he wants to cement the chiefs legacy? AJ brown thinks it’s no big deal to lose bc he will get another shot? It’s the super bowl; both teams will do anything to win. “Narratives” are made up to keep espn’s shows on during the middle of the day.

See Ja’Marr Chase.

It’s a what can you do for me, not a what have you done lately league.
Did you read the rest of my post? Opting out has nothing to do with career ending injuries, although that’s still a (very small) potential risk. It’s all about the combine.

It’s probably more likely to die while waiting for your 2 week notice to expire than to get a career ending injury in a bowl game. Literally never happens

See Jaylon Smith, Jake Butt.

It’s not really about career ending injuries or just top draft picks. If you are a mid to late rd projected pick, you can really boost your draft stock if you crush the combine compared to just playing and getting two tackles in the Loaded Potato Bowl. So if you get a non career ending injury but won’t be 100% in the combine, you’re screwed. One game won’t make a difference, but a huge combine does.

A coach’s career can last 50-plus years. The average coaching tenure at a school is around 5 years, longer than the average college player’s career. Are you suggesting that Brian Kelly leaving Notre Dame after 11 years is similar to a college football player leaving after 1?

You are making the point that the player and coach careers are comparable.

If a player had 50 year college career, then we would expect them to stay longer at the school. If a coach had 3-5 years to make their career, we would expect them to move to the best possible position to achieve that goal.

Every single kid in the class looked like a cool/normal person by Louisiana standards except him.

This is one of the weird parts about recruiting.

Mac is absolutely the single best thing they have going for them from player to coach to player personnel.

Rhamondre is by far their best player. Debatable if Mac is even their best QB.

Jamarr Chase has 821 rec. yards in 9 games this season. His Louisiana pal/Heisman winner Devonta Smith has 775 in 13 games.

Wtf!! That is absolutely insane. Having a hard time believing it is true. Definitely a ridiculous factoid.

Once again I said it before he went pro the kid is just injury prone.

I remember when you said that!!!!

Not so much that but really a relief being that this has been a point of contention here for the last 5 years.

We moved out of Georgia 3 years ago bc of this.

coordinators frequently leaving means every loyal player on two teams has to learn a new scheme. Unfortunate for the loyal players that the older generation can’t stay loyal to a school.

Weird that the people that are offended by the F word are probably the same people that preach about free speech.

even just an average starter can make BIG bucks just by transferring and offering their services to the "highest" bidder.

This just isn’t true.

This isn’t free agency. NFL teams can’t sign free agents for $5k-$10k (which is above average for an NIL deal) or even $0 like CFB teams can.

Name one NFL coach who you think could go into any other NFL locker room and win, no matter who is on his team. There isn't one. Even Belichick is showing that he isn't anything special without the greatest QB in the history of the sport on his team.

Andy Reid would win anywhere.

Vrabel, harbaugh, shanahan have all won with below average QBs.

Still early in their careers but Sirianni, McDaniel, OConnell, and Daboll all look promising and able to adapt their game plans to get the most out of their rosters.
