Ya he didn’t throw past 5 yards bc he didn’t have time
Since he didn’t have time - how about quicker, less process thinking plays?
- Ball right hash: Motion jones out left, snap it and pass it. WR’s block for him.
- Trips out left/right: Snap & pass it.
- WR motion, handoff to Watkins.
- Slant routes w/ Green & Harris.

Ya Leavitt didn’t play great.
OL & DL got wrecked in 1st H.
What was annoying was Bakers scheme.
No pressing WR’s. Allowing Chambliss to stay in a comfortable state with WR’s & timing.
What really annoyed me more was Weis and the play calling.
I figured first couple games the coaches called more conservative gameplan to open it up with SEC play.
No bubble screens. No screens whatsoever.
No short, quick passes at the LOS.
No scheme to offset their defense heavy on one side of the field, to create space on the opposite side.
Little RPOs.
Especially on the road, hostile environment and om playing a Super Bowl like game for them.
A lot to be proud of with the fight in the players.
But the lack of creativity with play calling was mind boggling to me.
Yes question the arm of Leavitt, totally but with how their DLine was bullying our Oline, I expected more quick, less than 2 second snap to pass plays.

Outside of 3 offensive players, OM hasn't established more weapons, so far
I think you see baker allow the front 4 to eat, have weeks & dottery spy aggressively and force Duece to beat pickett, which is a challenge in itself.
Contain Lacey to under 50 yards, don't allow chambliss to beat you on broken plays & contain duece over the top.
after watching highlights of OM & louisville, OM defense is very suspect.
Mediocre secondary and terrible tackling.
hell, charlotte put up over 320 yards total offense.

You take a coach who wins 10 games every year with three and four star recruits, put him in Baton Rouge, and I thought that it was a match made in heaven.
Little did we know that once Kelly stepped on Campos, he would basically retire from football and become an avid golfer at the local country clubs.

First off, hats off to LA Tech and their team. They’re disciplined, well-coached, and can play some ball — especially on defense.
After going back and watching some highlights, I actually feel a lot better heading into the Ole Miss game than I did immediately after last night.
-- Defense
Deuce Geralds looks like a veteran out there. Fast, twitchy, and really impressive technically for his age.
Princewill looks like a future first-rounder. Coming off the edge with his size, he can bend, spin, run — pretty much do it all. Love watching him beat the OL and attack the QB.
I also didn’t realize Ross was this good. Anderson played a lot of snaps last night, and Pickett was MOVING on that INT.
This front seven is dangerous, and what makes it scary is how deep we are on the DL.
I loved when the announcer said, “Stopped in the backfield — this defense is like piranhas.” That’s exactly what it looks like. They’re fast, physical, and they HUNT on every play.
--Offense
TREY’DEZ GREEN.
What stands out most to me is his physicality. He’s attacking from the LOS looking for defenders to block, and his YAC has been impressive. He’s not looking to run away from contact or dodge defenders.
There have been several times — even against Clemson — where he easily could’ve stepped out of bounds. Instead, with his size, he embraces contact and falls forward for another 4–7 yards.
He’s living up to the #7 hype, and not just as a receiving TE.
Dillin Jones really got going in the second half. LA Tech’s defensive line was disruptive, but Jones showed how well he can make defenders miss once he gets to the second level.
As for Leavitt, I think he can learn to stay in the pocket a little longer. At times, after a couple of seconds, he starts scrambling even when there’s still a pocket he can step into. I think that improves with time as he develops more trust in the OL and the playcalling.
On some throws, he’s also throwing off balance when he doesn’t necessarily have to. On the overthrow to Green, he came up to make the throw and the ball sailed on him. A little more patience will go a long way — and there probably aren’t two better guys to help him develop there than Kiffin and Weis.
Also, that throw and catch to Wilson was IMPRESSIVE. Leavitt launched that ball about 60 yards in the air while off balance.
Excuse the word vomit, but I think over these next two games we’re going to see LSU lean more heavily on this defense, focus on limiting turnovers, and use our physicality to wear opposing teams down over four quarters.
Last night was probably a good reality check. LA Tech can play some ball.
And LSU might have the best defense in the country.
