re: How many of y'all are multilingual?

My grandmother's family is German, and she and her oldest brother speak it together. I took 3 years of it in college and now speak it with her and my great uncle. And you're absolutely right about Dutch being close to English. Frisian is a dialect of Dutch spoken in the Frisian Islands of Holland, and it is the closest language to English. Dutch spelling is crazy, though.

I called Rebel Rags today, and they said they don't have them and aren't going to.

The Sith followed the rule of 2. I think the way that worked was that there could only be a master and an apprentice, and in order for the apprentice to become a master, he had to kill his master and then take on an apprentice.

I'm psyched as well. I wonder how well they'll be able to tie it in with the original storyline, but the previews I've seen had both Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill in them, so I guess that's a good sign.
And the new battlefront game looks incredible.

Jacksonville State in 2010. Walking out of the stadium, I can remember thinking "what did I just watch?"

Are you talking about Dwight Coleby?
re: Longest Paper You wrote in College

Conducted research on/ wrote a 71 page thesis on the effects of parasites on feather coloration and selection strategies in mourning doves. But other than that, a 16 page paper on MRSA and the structure of Staphylotoxin.

I live on Claritin-D. Mine aren't as bad as they used to be when I cut grass during the summer in high school.

I was in Ridgeland when it supposedly hit. Never felt or heard a thing.
re: What was your major in college?
Posted by RebMed on 4/29/15 at 1:46 pm
Biology. Plus side, great if you want to go to Medical/Dental school. Downside, not much you can do with it unless you go for the Ph.D.

Juco isn't a university, and in MS particularly, the vast majority of them are laughable in their standards and education. My issue with the IHL is that they wield too much unchecked power, and they are now appointing a man that has no university level administrative experience to lead it.

Why on earth would a juco college president be qualified to make any higher education decision that impacts the two largest universities in Mississippi? If the DJ issue wasn't enough, this would push me over the edge to call for the dissolution of the IHL.
re: Question for Jackson folks about Belhaven

I've got plenty of friends who live down that way. The only problem that I can remember them consistently having is people stealing/opening UPS or FEDEX packages off of their doorsteps. But beyond that, a lot of people do it and enjoy it.

I'm not well informed about the role of the IHL in the state, but why does the university have to take orders from them? Are they some sort of oversight committee, or do they direct funding?

I'll admit that he did a pretty good job of keeping it together when controversy flared up around campus, but as far as him personally, I have nothing for him. In my two times of meeting him, he was a pompous arse.

That was awesome  I couldn't talk for two days after that game. I remember going back to the RC and when the players came in, we gave them a standing ovation.
