They would have fired Gussie long before they did had that play gone slightly differently. But in the end, Gus couldn't keep depending on that blind squirrel finding that nut over and over again.

Right. I remember as a Bama fan that Auburn had all the momentum both on O and D. That play was the nail in the dagger but I think Bama was losing that game in OT regardless.
