Alabama fan Dick Coffee, who died on Friday at age 91, attended every single Alabama football game since their season opener in 1946. The Decatur, AL, native was in the stands to cheer on his alma mater for 781 consecutive games. One of Coffee’s friends, Oakley Melton, told AL.com...
quote:

“There’s never been anyone greater,” “He would go if it was raining, snowing, sleeting. Dick Coffee would be there, and his record was unblemished. … He had a full life. He’s going to be missed. I can’t say enough good things about him."

i don't know if this guy was married, but if he was, his wife was a damned trooper. i had to miss an LSU because the birth of my first daughter. I'm gonna go tell my wife, "Dammit, you don't see Dick Coffee taking weeks off!!!" This is why Bama is beating us! And then maybe i'll slap her, i don't know i haven't planned it all out in my head yet. Roll Todd!!!

He should have stopped at 780.

This gentleman didn't just stick with the team through thick and thin, like some have mentioned here, he started the streak with close to 15 years of football ranging from mediocre to just atrocious. Makes it all the more impressive.

that's the true definition of a fan - sticking with your team through thick and thin, and never giving up on them. my hats off to this gentleman

And some us claim to be fans? Hats off to anyone who is this loyal at any school. He saw national titles and also ears whitworth win 3 games in 4 years in the 50's. I even started missing some games in the Shula era. I remember leaving a game against MSU at the end of the SECOND QUARTER in 2006. Of course we were down like 21-0 or 24-0 to the mighty Bulldogs and QB Michael Henig. Been a little different since then but I seriously left with 3 minutes to play in the 2nd. I'm not even a fan next to this guy. Salute.

Well, I'm glad Dick Coffee was able to see Bama in its recent prime before he went. Not too bad.

Very funny spaulding...You do understand he saw Alabama win more games against LSU during his time than you have seen your tigahs beat Alabama in your 12 years of life.

Awesome! As a lifelong Tiger fan, I'll give that man a "Roll Tide" out of respect.
