Urban Meyer’s Texts Suggest Alabama Tried To Hire Away Zach Smith In 2018
© Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports
The texts and emails Ohio State released on Friday about the Zach Smith allegations from 2018 revealed that then-coach Urban Meyer was upset about schools trying to hire his coaches, so he suggested sabotaging those schools' plans, one of those school's being Alabama, per The Spun...
quote:

Meyer, back in January of 2018, seemed to be upset that so many programs were trying to poach his coaches. He notes that Greg Schiano had offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida State and some NFL teams. He also said that Ryan Day, who is the Ohio State coach now, had assistant jobs offered by UCLA and some NFL teams – along with the head coaching job at Mississippi State.

Perhaps the most interesting, however, is that Smith was offered by Nick Saban to come and join Alabama’s staff.

Can't wait to hear Nick Saban's response to this.

A record number of WRs developed by Zach Smith were drafted by the NFL. Alabama was not the only school going after Zach Smith.
