One of my fraternity brothers did this during 2011 LSU/Olemiss.

Needless to say I showed up during the reception.

Paul Harvey did a story about that except it was an empty wedding but for the essential parties. Lot of money spent, planned for a long time. Bride was in tears.

But it was in Lincoln, Nebraska in November. The day of the Oklahoma game. The grooms father watched game on a small TV during ceremony. Bride was in tears.
