Multiple sources report that newly hired Alabama linebacker coach Austin Armstrong is leaving Nick Saban's staff to be the new defensive coordinator at Florida.

Armstrong will replace co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Patrick Toney, who will join the Arizona Cardinals staff as a defensive assistant.

Armstrong was the defensive coordinator at Southern Miss for the past two seasons and was recently hired by Saban this past January to coach the inside linebacker position.

He will now be headed to Billy Napier's staff in Gainesville.

So Florida has the University of Lafayette’s head coach and Southern Miss’ defensive coordinator. Gators are only getting the best.

Saban's empire continues to crumble.

It looks like he's about finished.

We're happy to help the rest of the SEC by dismantling Bama. Even at our own expense of hiring a unproven DC. You're welcome, SEC brothers.

You can have him. No one was even excited about that hire. Most Bama fans were concerned about it because we were afraid he would be DC.

If you say so. There is literally one new thread about him. Looks like most the posters couldn’t care less.
