LSU starting safety Rickey Jefferson is expected to miss a significant amount of time after he broke his fibula during practice on Wednesday. Per The Advocate:
quote:Junior safety John Battle is expected to step in and replace Jefferson. Senior defensive back Dwayne Thomas will also see more playing time at safety.
Rickey Jefferson, a senior starting safety, broke his fibula at practice Wednesday and will miss significant time, a source told The Advocate. His recovery time is not known, but Jefferson will undergo surgery soon on the fibula, the outer most bone in the leg that runs from the knee to the ankle.
