On Saturday, Georgia running back Todd Gurley ran for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries and lead the Bulldogs to a 45-21 win over Clemson. He also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown.

Former Georgia star Herschel Walker was in Athens, GA to witness Gurley's dominate performance and he thinks that the senior running back is the best in college football. Per Sports Illustrated:
quote:

“Every time he touches the ball,” Walker said, “you’re looking for something to happen.”

Walker didn’t get a chance to talk with Gurley after Georgia’s 45-21 victory overClemson on Saturday, a game in which he set a school-record with 293 all-purpose yards and scored four touchdowns. But Walker said Gurley knows “how special he is to me.”

“Todd is the best running back in college football,” Walker said. “Right now, you can’t argue that point.”
Georgia heads into a bye week and then will travel South Carolina to play the Gamecocks on Sept 13th. Think Gurley can keep it up?

I think he maybe could be........right now. The season is long.......One game doesn't crown a champion.

Melvin Gordon definitely competes for the top running back honor as well at this point.

Gordon could carry Gurley's jockstrap. Just cause he ran all over LSU doesn't make him better.

@TKLSUMD

I really like Gordon, and have been telling everybody since his sophomore year that he was the best RB in the country behind Gurley. I still will not prop him above Gurley just because he tore through us like butter though.

Coleman, Gurley, Gordon, Henry

This is the best set of RBs in the country I have seen since Bush, Peterson, Lynch, and McFadden were tearing up the college landscape in 2005. If Fournette enters that group, OMG!
