Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity announced on Wednesday that the Bulldogs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have agreed on a two-game series. Per Georgiadogs.com:

The Bulldogs and Fighting Irish will play in South Bend on September 9, 2017, and in Athens on September 21, 2019.

"This series will generate an overwhelming level of excitement for our student-athletes and supporters," said McGarity. "We have a tremendous amount of respect for Notre Dame and look forward to the start of this memorable experience."
The only time the two teams have faced each other was in the 1981 Sugar Bowl, and Georgia won 17-10.

Why is it so f$cking difficult to get one of these normal set ups instead of these B.S. single matchups in a neutral stadium? Just trade playing in each other's stadiums like it was meant to be.

Really??? As always, the answer is money. Teams get paid to play in these neutral-site "kickoff" games. Also, it's a premier game that's often the only game on TV at that timeslot so it's guaranteed national exposure.

Notre Dame has stated they wanted to start playing SEC teams in order to gain access to some of the recruits in the south east. that being said, i applaud these games being a "normal" home and away. Why is it so f$cking difficult to get one of these normal set ups instead of these B.S. single matchups in a neutral stadium? Just trade playing in each other's stadiums like it was meant to be. Well done UGA and Notre Lame....
