Auburn and Clemson announced Wednesday that the two sets of Tigers will play a home-and-home series in 2016 and 2017, with Dabo Swinney's team visiting Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 3, 2016, and Gus Malzahn's Tigers returning the favor at Memorial Stadium Sept. 9, 2017.

For Auburn, the series fulfills the SEC's requirement going forward that its teams schedule at least one Power 5 conference opponent outside of SEC play. For Clemson, the series offers a chance to extend its two-game win streak over its SEC counterparts after winning the teams' 2011 and 2012 meetings.

Auburn leads the all-time series between the two teams 34-13-2.
