Good luck on Saturday against Notre Dame. The key to success is to contain Wimbush in the pocket and make him throw from there. If he gets outside he can hurt you with his feet as well as his arm, and he throws well on the run.
Key one player to follow Wimbush as long as he has the ball. A good run game will give your QB some time to look for receivers.

Thanks AC!

I'm cautiously optimistic, but wouldn't be surprised by any outcome in this game (aside from Vandy blowing them out). It worries me that Vandy hasn't had a very good track record against mobile QBs in the Mason era.

That would be the MOST surprising outcome, but it wouldn't be that shocking to me. Wimbush has a tendency to give the ball away, and Vanderbilt's defense has looked opportunistic so far. If we have 3 takeaways (and protect the ball ourselves), that could be 13-21 points in our favor. Especially if we make them turn it over early and can get up by 10 points and make them throw the ball more, we COULD blow them out.

That would be big. Don't need a blowout. Just win by 4 or more and the pollsters will look your way. It would be nice to see Vandy in the top 20 for the rest of the season.

Um...winning at all over a blueblood who is currently ranked 8th would get EVERYONE'S attention, pollsters included. Even losing a close one would get a lot of positive attention (assuming we don't lose on something massively stupid like only having 10 guys on the field defensively or a pick 6 while leading late). Obviously, a win almost propels us straight into the Top 25, but a really competitive loss will get enough eyes to prove ourselves going forward.

I'm picking Vanderbilt to cover tomorrow. I'm actually hoping for a win, and thinking it is possible if you can play a near perfect game.
Keeping Wimbush in the pocket is essential, but Vanderbilt needs to get some solid offense too.

16-3 in 3rd quarter. Close game. Good defense by Vandy overall.

Get a TD here and play defense and go into the 4th quarter with a chance to win.

Good game Vandy. Almost pulled it off. ND will think twice about scheduling any more SEC teams.
