I doubted he'd be able to edge Verlander for the prize, but this could be a huge boost for Vandy baseball, since Price comes back to Hawkins Field occasionally and works out with the team.

Very happy about this!! 
I believe this is the highest professional award won by a Vanderbilt athlete in any of the big 3 sports (NFL, MLB, NBA). We've had the occasional Pro Bowl (Will Wolford, Corey Chavous, Jim Arnold), MLB All-Star (Joey Cora & Price), and from a team perspective, Will Perdue's participation on NBA championship teams, but outside of Brandt Snedeker's golf exploits earlier this year,this may be the individual high point for a Vanderbilt athlete!
