What Burton did on the field was a lot less criminal than what I've seen out of other players when fans have stormed the field.

Should he have done it? No. Is it criminal? Probably, given the absence of any legitimate threat (even if she used an epithet, that would probably not rise to the level as something that would allow him to invoke a castle doctrine defense.) Is Burton a bust? Absolutely.

Burton is, for me, a Top 10 disappointment at UGA, as it pertains to expectation vs results. I'm glad he's gone, and wish him well in his endeavors after CFB.

He won't play on Sundays.

Well, at least he won't have a charge standing in the way of a career in LTL freight driving a forklift.

ust wondering because it seems similar ... did that NFL player that leveled the protester that ran on the field a couple of weeks ago have charges brought against him?

An Alabama fan brought up this comparison....and i don't understand why people equate someone running on to a field in the middle of a game and stopping action to someone walking around on a field after a game is over. Two totally different things.

That said we are fast approaching when they will stop....with force...fans going out onto the field while the players are walking around on it. Emotions are high and when fans are delirious their team won a game, they don't understand that the players are not in a good mood. Fans tend to think they can troll players and that is rarely a good idea after a loss.

“ I don’t know how many of you have been in a situation like that. I talked to him. He was scared, I was scared, some of our other players were scared,” Saban said.

No suspension for Burton. No punishment whatsoever. In fact, according to Saban, Burton and the entire Alabama team are the victims and so he enrolled Burton in some sort of therapy class for post traumatic stress.

This is real. This really just happened.

The media is complicit in this, which is odd.

Well to be fair to Saban, he probably was actually scared since he's clinically a midget. Those Appalachian women have the fight in them.

Although I don't buy that the players were scared.

Just listened to a clip of Fowler and Herbstreit briefly addressing the situation during the Bama game last night. It’s absolutely incredible.

Fowler says Burton was involved in an incident after Tennessee game where he was scared and “shoved” a Tennessee fan. Herbstreit breaks his damn neck avoiding touching the subject.

They carried the water for Saban. Right in front of your f’n faces. Fowler and Herbstreit think you are idiots.

It may be about sports, but let's not pretend that ESPN isn't a tent pole franchise of the manufactured MSM complex.

Yah, it sounds like ESPN, a network that can blow a story up, dampened the story for Saban and Alabama. They almost turned a 500 dollar Western Union transfer into the death penalty for our hoops program. I'm sure Bama consulted very closely with their legal team on this situation and felt like spinning this to where Burton felt fear for his safety and this was some type of defense instinct. Hence to address his defense instincts he goes to anger management. If there was some admission that he put his hands on the female without provocation then it becomes an entirely different situation. I didn't hear anything else from the fan so she probably decided she didn't want a lot of attention. Maybe Burton and Bama apologized to her.

Wonder if she got a nice check?
Also, Knoxville Police could have acted, but so far, have not.

It all comes down to the victim. Sure, they could charge (they do it all of the time). But, prosecuting without the victims cooperation is a battle most solicitors won't fight. Too many other low hanging fruits to pluck.

I'd expect a lawsuit, or nothing. If she wanted to prosecute, that ball would already be rolling. Maybe she got a check.

Its straight out of the commie playbook of politics and power that espn is proud to follow

-Ignore and cover up the epidemic of violence that comes from a very small minority
-Label it “racist” if anyone asks questions about it
-Then simultaneously magnify every random injustice that might ever happen to anyone in that same minority
-All of this, while incessantly hammering the majority with blame and guilt for every perceived problem in society

This is how you end up with a mass of morons and the riots of 2020. People were maimed and killed. And that’s part of the plan too

But, why would Bama pay her off for BURTON? I mean, he's not going to be what wins them a NC, if they do?

His politics aside, I use to really respect and like him. Something has changed with him though on the GameDay show. It’s like the natural energy that Pat McAffee has brought is making him and the others try to up their fake energy to try and keep up with him and it’s phony as hell.

He’s also lost a step since taking on nfl responsibilities. He referred to LSU as “massive underdogs” to ole miss yesterday when they were actually 2 point favorites. And a bunch of other stuff that made you scratch your head.

She probably just doesn’t want to be under the microscope and get thrown in the barrel if she pushes the issue. The cowardly jackals out there would try to ruin her life.

In fairness, LSU was unranked and Ole Miss was top ten, so at a glance, you can assume they are underdogs if you don't follow point spreads. I think he's rooted in the old world where you don't talk about point spreads on TV because Jesus might be watching.

Also, I never hated him, always thought of him as a decent commentator. His 2020 meltdown certainly changed my opinion of him. Maybe it shouldn't. But it does. I can't unsee that disgraceful moment.
