I didn't think so.

You are so full of shite. Nothing like making shite up when you don't have an argument.

So you got nothing? Baker would be playing if we were playing today, so that’s evidence enough. I got that much.

You going to risk blowing out a knee in a meaningless bowl game and risk millions of dollars?

Again, that's an even *better* argument for skipping the playoffs. Winning an NCAA title doesn't add a dime to your NFL contract, so why risk blowing out a knee in *two* meaningless games?

Reward of winning a championship vs sugar bowl.....

Zero dollar reward for two games' risk vs. zero dollar reward for one game's risk. Play in either, and at best you win a tacky ring that you could by 500 of in six months' time, anyway. So there's really no point in playing either.

Depends - if the NFL keeps losing popularity, it will certainly have a negative impact on rookie salaries.

And yet it contributes nothing to your NFL paycheck, so it has what bearing on "risking your future livelihood?"

As Brett Maverick noted;

Absolutely none, whatsoever.

So what? 1st rounders play for paychecks and championships.

Baker committed to winning a championship.

He never said that. Especially last January 2018 when he made the decision to return.

I'd have more respect for Baker if he did say that.
Can't say that I respect someone who resorts to making shite up because he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

You can’t prove he didn’t say it. These aren’t savvy, experienced interviewees. It’s safe to assume that was part of his motivations. Seniors always want to win championships. Always. You know it.

By going for the latter, they risk the former, so from a "risking their livelihood" standpoint (which is the standard reason for skipping bowl games), they're galactic-level fricking morons for doing it - 100% more stupid than guys who chance playing a single bowl game. They risk millions for $0 dollars - it's literally a negative lottery, at best, they come out no worse than they started.

So long as it's about "risking their livelihood," there is absolutely no reason to play in a playoff game.

If it's not just about the dollars, then that implies that the games do actually mean something.

..and if games mean something, but some games mean more...then it is a false statement in saying they are skipping “meaningless” games. Frankly, playing in th Sugar Bowl is priceless. Strapping on your Red helmet with your brothers for one last time is priceless. Frankly, the NFL and it’s agents run amok stole that from him.

You are a moron.
Of course he wanted to play for a championship.
But to imply his sole motivation? The lies that you are willing to go through for a stupid Internet debate... you wallow in mendacity yourself.

Quit being a moron. That wasn’t meant to be the implication. I am sure he wanted to win the Thorpe, which he did. I am sure He also wanted to improve his draft slot, which he did.

No. Championships are a reason to play in a playoff game. Not all games are created equal.

From an NFL pay standard, they are all equally worthless. There is no dollar difference between losing a minor bowl game and winning a title, which is why the "protecting future livelihood" argument is dumb.
