I'm critical of Kirby at times, but you can't put this QB thing on him, when Newman bolted on him and Fromm left early after suckin it up last year. Also, the Fields thing is crazy too. So, you are just gonna bench a QB that just won the SEC and took you to the champ game for someone that hasn't had a snap in college? Some of you aren't thinking this thru.

Yes you can. We shouldn't have had to rely on a graduate transfer. We should have had a cessession plan in place. In other words, we shouldn't have been 1 QB deep before Fromm left.

Qb is just a different position. Transfer portal is good and bad.
I truly blame Fromm for this. Hope he likes run for his life on an NFL practice squad.

Did Logan actually play a game at QB though?

As someone that remembers Ray Goff, Wayne Johnson, and James Jackson, I can assure this is not the worst QB play in history. Close, but not the worst.

Don’t forget Jeff Pyburn.

Ray Goff was SEC POY and very effective running the veer.Different offenses back then and James Jackson was pretty good for what he was asked to do and had a cannon for an arm. Wayne got a shot at the NFL.
I remember Todd Williams,David Dukes and Joe Dupree...now that was some bad QB play

He wasn't all that bad; just an option QB in high school that Dooley tried to make into a pro-style I-form QB. Goff was the most accurate passer in high school football back in 1972 and Dooley made a Veer QB out of him and wasted that passing talent. Goff, however, ran the Veer very well...and he wasn't the smallest guy running at you, either. Like 6-2, 215. Wayne Johnson was....well, Wayne Johnson.

That's a BIG 10-4. Goff had some turrible QBs until Zeier got here and then Bobo came along at the end of the Goff regime.

May have been a triple option guy down at Camilla but had an absolute cannon for an arm even though he was 5'9 I believe.
Very good athlete and BTW Wayne saved the day vs AU in '86 and had a great Gator Bowl vs MSU...Dooley's last game.

He was. Mitchell/Baker ran the Veer in 1983 when they won the AAA title. But...they also passed a lot out of the Veer. A good bit of fake play action dive and a pass over the middle...like it's supposed to be run.
