2014 ATL Driver Disaster SOUNDTRACK......................

That is a clear example of the impact of immigrant Northerners moving into Atlanta. Anyone that was born and raised in Georgia knows to stay home and away from Atlanta if there’s even a hint of ice or snow.
The “I don’t know what’s wrong with you Southerners we used to drive in this stuff all the time” mentality drove that disaster

How can anyone possibly vote for Atlanta when that city is just one giant wall of traffic all the time? Nobody moves, ever. In fact, I've been sitting in I-75 traffic since I was a fetus.

Places I avoid...
(1). Henry county on I-75. Numerous times I have traveled this stretch. Cruising along, no problems, everybody doing the give and take, merging, allowing faster cars the left lane, respecting the truckers...
Then you have a speed trap. Brakes are pressed, slides/caroms/unavoidable death occurs daily.
They put in a Peach Pass($$$) lane to lessen the carnage.
(2). I-85 south at 285 east. You probably won't die if you can ride the emergency lane.
You have miles to merge, you have miles to be where you need to be to get where you need to go.
I've never understood the "maniacs".
I-285 NE is a clusterfrick. 20 mph is the norm.

That peach pass lane in Henry county used to kick arse until they started running radar in there.

A friend of mine made it all the way down from work in dahlonega on a 14 hour adventure in a 2wd pickup in snowmageddon. He was like 5 miles from home in barnesville when he fell asleep at the wheel and put the truck in a ditch.

That's where my mom lives. Lamar County.

If you had been on the road during that, no pun intended, perfect storm, you'd have understood why there were so many accidents. I had a truck at the time and abandoned it on the side of 75 because the roads were like an ice rink. It was impossible to properly guide your vehicle.

You will agree that decision-making is the #1 factor in determining whether someone is a good or bad driver though, right?
Well, nothing personal, but deciding to put yourself in the middle of one of the most traffic-clogged car-dependent commuter environments on earth with conditions on the way capable of turning it into a bob-sled course......is an example of very very bad decision-making.
Conclusion: Stinkdawg’s question has been answered with hard science. Atlantans have been proven to be the worst drivers in the state. Due to the largest mass-demonstration of bad decision-making ever displayed anywhere in the universe involving driving.

73-75 is not fast enough for the left lane (big black dude in a suburban tried to run me off the road for that once),
The speed limit there is 70 and you are expected to drive 78-79.
People are paying money to be in that lane and if you are slowing it down, they get pissed like you are stealing money from them.
I got a cab ride from the airport up toward Suwannee recently and the cabby refused to drive above 70 in the Peach lane and there was a big black suburban going nuts on him too, he got out of the lane to let him pass then got back in. The funny thing is that the car sensors are going to sense that the Suburban illegally crossed the double lines and passed him, and he will be the one getting the citation. Ha.

I was driving from Atlanta to Marietta, got on the road before it was bad and it was simple snow flurries, the conditions worsened rapidly. Nobody could have predicted it would escalate like that so fast.
That being said, I made a bad decision not bailing faster than I did.
