There's alot of disparity amongst the most popular crutin sites these days...
Some have Jared Curtis listed as the #1 QB, others as low as #4.
Athlete Ryan Mosley is listed as the #7 ath on On3, but #96 on 247...??
Zykie Helton is listed as the #1 center in the nation by ESPN, but On3 has him at #98...what the?
That's just a few I've come across. So, what causes big differences like this and which site/sites are the best?
I'm not the recruiting guru some of you are, so help out a fellow Dawg fan here.

On3 definitely better IMO.

I usually like the 247 composite because it takes several publications’ ratings into account. Gives you a decent picture of the consensus opinion on things.

247 was acquired by mainstream media. The better beat guys are at On3. They also just acquired and are merging with Rivals. Same guy started all of them and he’s currently at On3.

I like on3 simply because it’s the easiest to navigate. ESPN and Rivals are garbage.

On3 just acquired Rivals so one sub toe other platform gives access to both.
Of you do the annual membership for on3 you get a free year of the athletic too
Can't be at rusty mansell at on3. He has connects the other guys don't imo

Not saying 247 has better ratings. Saying their composite, which averages several publications together, including On3 and Rivals, is the best number to watch IMO.

Yes, ESPN and Rivals are a joke.

Part of me say they are all a profit scheme..... But 5 -4stars make the NFL at high rates 3 stars less but still and under that it's tough sledding.

On3 is not trustworthy IMO. I believe their ratings are driven by football "politics". Just my opinion from observing, haven't tried to collect organized data to back it up because there's no point. In my opinion, their foray into the NIL space is inappropriate for an organization that ranks recruits, maybe even "educates" recruits, while covering individual football programs and doing analysis of the college football landscape.
One example of how they operate. About a month ago, On3 parted ways with Grant Frerking, their head of "NIL university" amidst negative publicity over business dealings and a revelation that that he was being paid as a consultant to Josh Heupel/Univ of Tenn. He was previously a Tennessee football player and affiliated with a Tennessee NIL collective. During Frerking's tenure at On3, they put Nico Iamaleava's face on every player's recruiting page. Their "analysts" gave Iamaleava non-stop positive coverage, right up until the day he transferred, and then they dropped him like a rock and turned critical on his abilities. The interesting relationship was noticeable long before Frerking left his job at On3. I asked some Tennessee fans about that relationship last September.
Not my only reason for doubting On3's objectivity, but one of multiple tendencies I've noticed over the last several years in their rankings, predictions, coverage, etc. Just my two cents worth.
