There are no elite recruits at tight end. But we can scheme that with the talent we have elsewhere.

The 2 sophomores I feel will really take the next step for us on D are Tindall and Anderson. No offense to the 5 star Dean but IMO our most talented ILB is Tindall and I expect him to take Crowder's job.

That is fair.
If I'm ranking sophomores on D next season:
#1 Jordan Davis
#2 Eric Stokes
#3 Brenton Cox
#4 Tyson Campbell
#5 Otis Reese
#6 Divaad Wilson
#7 Adam Anderson
#8 Channing Tindall
#9 Azeez Ojulari (he may move up after spring)
#10 Quay Walker
#11 Robert Beal

I'm not exactly sure where you start with "taking the next step" so I'm ranking in importance.

Random thought-

I remember last year around this time, we lost Chubb and Michel, Roquan, Wims, Wynn, Eason, Trent Thompson, Lorenzo Carter, punter [I already forgot his name] 66 seniors, sky was falling.

The sky falling was 11-1, sweeping the East and destroying Tua in the SECCG that we almost won.

It's hard to say.

Talent wise, every position should be solid and deep. We absolutely need to get a pass rush from somewhere, although I expect much increased production from this crew.

The biggest ? is RB depth. Swift has been injured once, and unless Zeus or Cook step up he'll be looking at an increased workload. Good news is they'll get help from a passing game that could be lethal. Yes there are question marks, but these WRs could actually end up being one of the strongest units on the team.

ESPN "IFs for Georgia"

I agree with the article that the most important characteristic for a national championship team is running the ball in the red zone and stopping the run in the red zone.

Our OL struggled against Elite DL that used speed to penetrate (Missouri, Florida, Bama, Texas). This is a valid questionmark.

I don't blame our DL for run defense as much as I blame growing pains at ILB. Mobile QBs killed us. Our defensive identity was so different without Roquan.
Burrow, Franks, Jalen, and Ehlinger killed us with 7 rushing TDs.

I know that putting pressure on opposing QBs is one of the strongest indicators of a winning team in the NFL. I don't think that translates to the college game (QBs aren't that efficient to matter as much). But winning the turnover battle is crucial in critical games. And pressure against the QB can disrupt timing for handoffs, routes, and knock balls loose. UGA wouldn't have had the success against Bama if we didn't pound Tua. We need a lot more of that in 2019.

This will be unpopular but frick it. Special Teams: kicking & punting.

Blankenship & Camarda need to step up in big games. Yes, when we lose, we lose as a team but their respective frickups in the SEC Championship & the Sugar Bowl really put us behind the 8-ball.

Blankenship:
The Bulldogs snatched momentum again out of the half,. They gained a 28-14 lead and had the ball in the Alabama red zone after a 55-yard Isaac Nauta catch and run. But after the drive stalled, Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship pushed a 30-yard field goal wide left, igniting the Alabama sideline. Alabama defensive lineman Raekwon Davis said after the game that the miss lit a fire under the Crimson Tide, and it helped the defense to pitch a shutout for the rest of the game.

Camarda:
Vs Texas. Fielding Moore’s snap, he lowered his knee, giving Texas the ball at our 25. Next punt, he shanked it for 11 yards. It gave Texas momentum.

All I’m saying is I don’t want to see our kickers give momentum to our opponents, especially in big games. They’re all big, but you know what I mean.
