Stranger things have happened, but I don't know about this one. As other people have mentioned, he's just limited physically. Can't really make the intermediate range throws, and is not mobile in the least bit. Eason can make the throws that move the sticks, easy as that.

I could, however see where he could be improved. Jim Chaney last year made that transfer QB from Tennessee, Nathan Peterman, into a presentable QB after he transferred over to Pitt. If y'all remember, that kid got absolutely mauled in Sanford a couple years ago after their starter went out, and then got buried on the depth chart at Tennessee.

Chaney has run spread concepts in the past and Eason ran the spread in HS. He could actually be ahead of GL in his understanding. Apparently Eason can make all of the throws necessary. I'm not suggesting that means he'll necessarily start but he's gonna play a bunch this year- book it.

The 4th string QB can make most throws. The difference is being the guy who can see the field and know where each throw needs to go while 300 dudes run very fast at you and while world class athletes try to close down those passing lanes.

If he does, he should stay in. But, that's not going to happen.
