They will be higher ranked because the committee is stupid, and that’s fine. Vegas will be more accurate.

Why would they be higher ranked? Am I missing something? Are we talking about those goober playoff rankings here? I don't really follow sports media outside of watching the games. Is it because of their schedule?

I’d be annoyed. I get the rationale but we have not lost since staking a true claim to that ranking. TN literally has the ability to control their destiny the week they would be “subjected” to being #2
With that I say they go to 2. If we played in 4 weeks maybe but it’s in their control. Let’s not award things prematurely because whoever wins this will sit atop the mountain for the foreseeable future this year

If we got booted from the top spot and replaced by Tennessee that would be an amazing motivator. It won't happen, but I would love it if it did.
