I agree, which is why watching the rest of the team struggle with offense is even more disappointed. We have the potential to be the best UGA basketball team we've had in a while and no one else wants to step up, and here we are floundering and hoping the teams we play just happen to play worse than we do.

oh my god no!!!! We played a bunch of players in a game we won easily! Fire this clown!!!
We won easily because tech is horrendous. Have you seen what happens when we play these scrubs in the losses? I was at the opener @clemson and saw us fight and claw our way back from double digit deficit basically teh entire came to cut it to within 3...in typical fox fashion we pull the guys who did the work and put in his "wtf am I doing lineup" and it ballooned back to 10 in about 2 minutes.
That's not just an isolated incident, it's just about every single game. I get that we aren't Kentucky and have talent behind talent at every position, so I'm NOT faulting these guys at all because they're doing their best. The problem is that there should N-E-V-E-R, outside of serious foul issues, be a point where we have 3-4 of these kind of players in at once, unless JJ/Maten are the other 2 in there. I'm sure fox has forgotten more about basketball than I've known but I'm not a moron and I can use my eyeballs and brain to see when somethign it stupid. There simply isn't any justification for some of his subbibg, at all, and it's been going on for like 7 years now.
And lastly I'll talk about Kessler. Like I said above, I don't fault HK because he's only doing what he can with the hand God dealt him, and it's not like he's forcing himself onto the court. He's only doing what Fox tells him...so I want to stress I'm not pissed AT kessler directly. With that said, he should see no more than 2-3 minutes per game TOPS, yet Fox's dumbass continues to put him in for ~8 minutes a game which would be better served going to pretty much any other player on the roster. And to make things worse he puts him in with 2 or 3 others that can't do much of anything either.
Kessler cannot shoot, he can't rebound, he can't defend, he can't pass, he can't dribble...basically there is NOT A SINGLE THING he can do on teh court that is an asset to us aside from hustle, which is basically meaningless. When Edwards/Kessler/KPG are in...you ever notice how when the ball is passed to them they look around for a second and will then just pass it back to who gave it to them? They're worthless from a basketball standpoint.
I honestly don't care how many wins we have this year or if we miraculously luck our way into the tournament, I'm ready for Fox to go after this year because we're seeing the same retarded arse decisions this year that we saw in year 1. If it aint changed yet it's never going to. Unfortunately, GM is such a bum that Fox will probably get a 12 year extension this year.

I keep telling myself he is resting Jk and Maten for SEC play, but knowing him he will continue to do this shite. Emerson notices it too. Hope he asks Fox about it soon.

Even if JJ and Maten are out there, those 3-4 guys being in bogs down the offense, just with how aggressively defenses can help with no repercussions.
IMO, the guys Georgia has that can make plays at a tournament level are Maten, Gaines, Ogbeide, Crump, and Harris. I'd want to keep at least 3 of them on the court at all times. Parker, Turtle, Wilridge, and Edwards can also help a quality team in different ways, at least athletically. I haven't seen enough out of Diatta to tell one way or the other, but he's struggled when I've watched.

Some numbers for discussion-
Minutes per game (rounded up/down):
DO- 18
Harris- 13
Edwards- 19
KPG- 13
Crump- 7
Diatta- 12
Wilridge- 11
Kessler- 7
2 of my biggest quesitons are why isn't Crump getting more minutes, considering he's one of the top recruits we've signed this decade and he can shoot the lights out, and why are Edwards/KPG/Kessler getting the minutes they are? Really hard to justify some of that.
Again, hate to pile on the guy, but this is HK's averages this season, yet for some reason Fox feels justifies 7 minutes a game:
17% FGpercentage (1-6 on the year), 1 RPG, 0 BPG, 0.4 PPG
He also has 17 fouls on the year, which is 6th most on the team despite him playing the 11th most amount of minutes.

I get why Edwards plays a lot. He's a solid athlete who can play D and rebound. They need someone to spell Ogbeide and Maten down low.

is anything about this surprising? like i just don't understand what you guys are complaining about.
kessler sucks and is a non factor. look at his minutes in our close games this year. it's like 2, 4, 2, and 5 (first game of year). worrying about him is wasting your time. he simply doesn't play meaningful minutes and will only play less as the year goes on. if you're bitching about playing a senior legacy 14 minutes in a 20 point win against charleston southern, you're losing it.
KPG also sucks and his minutes are trending down, but he's actually played some good games here lately, so im not sure how to interpret that. he will probably play in almost every game this year, because the reality is that we aren't deep at all.
as for crump, he's not getting more minutes because he's the 4th guard in the rotation and he hasn't been good. at all. not every freshman can just immediately play D1 ball. we clearly feel more comfortable with jj, harris, and turtle. then you have parker, diatta, and KPG on the wing and maten, ogbeide, and edwards down low.
wilridge will likely eat into KPG's minutes and crump will probably get some as well, but at this point in the season, that minutes spread is entirely reasonable.
it's not like crump is playing well in his limited minutes. he looks terrible right now.

I agree on the minutes, they won't change too much from that. Also I don't like to bash kids but Kessler is outclassed big time for this level of basketball. Coached against him in HS and was shocked he got a major D1 offer. Would much prefer to see Wilridge get minutes at the 4 above him.
We really need JJ to get out of his slump. Love watching him play but he has struggled this year, forcing it a bit. Think Charles Mann helped take a little heat and pressure off him more than I realized last year.
Friday will be a big test. Oakland has played a very weak schedule but are a pretty good team that will be fired up to have a big school visit them.

Edwards is definitely an athlete, and he can get boards, but I haven't been impressed with his defense at all. I feel like he is almost always out of position and he bites on pretty much every shot fake. He does have good potential to be a solid defender though. Just needs to be a little bit smarter.

Edwards reminds me a small bit of Jon Cannon a few years ago...he actually CAN produce some offense but only if very close to the basket. His game around 5' from the basket is not bad honestly, only problem is that's about it. He's a kinda big body so he can get some rebounds but his defense is bad, he can't shoot from any decent range, and he's definitley not a ball handler.

Edwards is still pretty raw but has huge upside. Kid is so long and athletic. In that way he is the opposite of Jon Cannon. Cannon was almost Kessler slow and unathletic but did have some touch around the basket.
Edwards can run and jump, rebounds and aggressively attacks the rim.

Edwards reminds me nothing of John cannon
He's a donte Williams/florveus type to me

All I meant was that he actually does have some offensive game directly close to the basket, but zero touch on shots outside of 5 or so feet.
Florveous didn't do a single thing well, basically a waste of a spot. Donte was a formidable shot blocker but had little offensive game.

Florveous had arguably the worst hands I've ever seen. He did have one dunk against UK one year we beat them though that were awesome (although I'm pretty sure he travelled
Donte got so much better as time wore on, at least at rebounding and shot blocking.
