Did you think he would commit to the G with the other studs making Athens, GA their home for the next few years? I sure didn't...

Hope the kid balls out though.

I know he's elite but it doesn't hurt THAT much since eason and Fromm will both still be on the roster when he gets here.

For the 18 class the one we REALLY need is zamir. That dude is a stud and will get PT quickly regardless of who we have already.

Damn, didn't even know he was committing today. He's already trying to pull Xavier Thomas to Clemson too

Meh, you can only get so many #1 QB prospects on one roster. I can live with giving up one.

I think Clemson is the scheme fit.

I can see players stacking on top of one another. But more importantly, clemsons offense suits him to a T.

Doesn't hurt that Clemson is WRU as well

More importantly this makes cutting Chaney if he flounders this year easier.

Not that surprising. Hope we get a dual threat QB in 2018.

Having Eason and Fromm takes a little bit of the sting off this, but it still hurts a lot, as he's the most talented. Also think about this...while waiting on Lawrence, 2 top 100 QB's from the state of Georgia made their college decisions. Emory Jones to Ohio State and Justin Fields to Penn State. And for those arguing for Dual-Threat QB's...both of them were/are.

We can sit here and talk about how much losing Lawrence hurts all we want but the fact is he would have brought in tons of talent. We've seen the trickle down effect that a stud QB can have on a class, or even just a talent that others want to play around.

You know the first two on his radar are Zamir White and Xavier Thomas. And we all want White, desperately.

Don't take this as a melt, please. God knows we still have over a month and a half until Signing Day 2017, let alone till Signing Day 2018. Kids will flip, much can change, but for now, its a bummer. And, IMO, it puts us behind the 8 ball for 2018 recruiting.

Yeah, wasn't there some rumors that Zamir white and Lawrence wanted to play together?

Lawrence looks to be better than Eason and Fromm. Puts us in a really tight spot for a QB in the '18 class, too.

You must not have seen the studs making Death Valley their home over the next few years...

The kid hasn't played a down in college. There is no way you can make that statement now.

I mean, how desperately will be we be needing one by then? We would still have Eason and Fromm on the roster.

Every class doesn't have to have a star QB to be a great class, especially when 2 five stars are on the roster with additional eligibility left.

We will have 2 quarterbacks that are capable of playing serviceable SEC football. anything less than 3 and you're talking about a thin QB group. It's not just missing in Lawrence, but now the top 3 QBs in the state have committed elsewhere.

I hear what you're saying, and its not so much a need thing, but putting all of that talent together would make for some fine competition.

And i'm not trying to be a douche, but thinking "we have enough talent at the position as is" is the kind of thinking that ended up with us starting a junior grad-transfer at QB by the name of Greyson Lambert. Can never have too much talent at QB. Kinda like pitching...its a numbers game

I never said he would turn out better than either, only that he looks to be better than they were in their careers at this point. He's the #1 rated player in the nation for reason, and neither Eason nor Fromm were. We have who we have, and we have two very good QBs, but I think Lawrence has the make-up to be the best of the group.
