My view is that we now have receivers that can get behind defenders. Fromm is very comfortable with the back shoulder throws, but is being instructed to work on leading the receiver when they have a step. I see a lot of those throws now and his accuracy is being tested.

What games were you watching? Put it on the money and the receivers dropped the ball

liked seeing the I-formation in short yardage. Something about a fullback in red and black punching a hole open for the RB feels right.

Me too. Wolf is either blocking 2 guys or blocking 1 who screens another defender from the hole simultaneously.

I understand very good philosophies that dont like the FB. But it is a crutch that has so many benefits for an OC. I think our conversion percentages go up with its use.

I dont think blame needs assigned. They are low percentage throws.

Do we need to be better? Yes. But let's be smarter than expecting a high completion percentage on a low percentage throw.

What game where you watching? Fromm missed every deep throw he attempted. Feel he has regressed in this area. He needs to figure it out soon.

He certainly needs to hit open wrs downfield better. Thankfully we can beat most teams despite the misses.

On the Arkansas St. missed fg, had the ball gone straight up the middle Jordan Davis would have blocked that kick.

Campbell going to play Saturday night?

Updates will probably be tonight.

I pulled up the statsheet.
Ark St went after Campbell in that first quarter.
7 pass attempts
0 first downs
9 yards gained on 3 completions.
I think only 1 of those was a downfield throw. But still, Campbell is improving imo.

I already trust Stokes, Reed, and Lecounte. If we can add Campbell and Webb to that list, then we can win games on the back of the defense alone (yes. Even with Stetson Bennett as our QB).

Enjoyed watching Stetson Bennet sling the ball around. Dude has some wheels too. Absolutely comfortable with him coming in to spell Fromm if need be. Composed & accurate.

I count 1 for 7 when the ball is in the air over 20 yds. 5 of the 6 misses where on Fromm. Like I said, he needs to pickup this part of his game. Good defenses won’t let us feast on the short to mid range passes where our athletes turn 8-10 yd throws into 50-60 yd scores. Just won’t happen..

3 of the misses hit hands and another should have been PI against Ark St. They are low percentage throws. Tough to be better than hitting hands.

What I liked to see from the video is Fromm's mobile passing. 1 rollout. 1 sliding his feet in the pocket. 1 scramble and throw for a TD. That isnt something that I remember seeing a lot of in the past. When did Chaney ever roll out Fromm?

1.Complete to Pickens
-Good pass. Probably could have been a little sooner to give Pickens the chance to make that cut and go down field before the defender is there like that Blaylock pass for the score, but still a good throw
2.Incomplete to Pickens
-To the endzone, Pickens had a step but the ball was underthrown. Could have been intercepted. Should have been thrown where Pickens was the only one that could get the ball
3.Incomplete to Landers
-Off Landers hands near endzone. Landers was running straight down the field. Fromm threw it to the pylon, off his stride
4.Incomplete to Pickens
-Ball probably shouldnt have been thrown. Good coverage. With the ball going to Pickens, it probably should have been more of a jump ball one on one. Thats the only way that throw is a catch with that coverage
5.Incomplete to Landers
-100% on Landers. He had the step. Should have been caught.

I only counted 5 throws in that video that went over 20 yards. Could you say that some of my criticisms are small? Yes, but this team is trying to win a National Championship, and inches and placement of a ball could be the difference in beating Alabama or Clemson. Plus, Fromm wants to be a first round pick. His arm strength is probably average, so being able to throw a good deep ball could go a long way to making that a reality.

I believe in Fromm. He probably thinks he should have made all the throws perfectly. Cant wait to see him carve up Rudy next week.

On Fromm....we also have to factor in getting timing down with pretty much a whole new WR corp.
