Edit: another thing...I can throw a better spiral than Eason (albeit not as fast, far, accurate, etc) I'm surprised the best pro style QB in the country throws a wobbler.

Comment? I'm rewarching the game and wtf? Small hands? Sweaty? Pressure? I'm not a QB coach but is this something that they can coach out of him on the long ball?

Does it matter?

If we aren't a power running team, our coaches need to find another way to get it done. Not sure if it's a scheme issue, Chubb not being completely healthy or the playcalling, but I never thought it'd be so hard to watch us run the football with such a great backfield.

Kub, Pyke, and Wynn were all starters on last year's line. Those same guys helped us run for almost 300 yards against UNC. Hard to believe that game was only 2 weeks ago because we looked physical enough up front.

Also, I would love to see SM and Herrien get more carries moving forward. Sony is too damn good of player to only get a few touches a game and Herrien was effective playing in relief of Chubb. Work them into the gameplan.

Funny thing is watching the game ...everyone went silent when we went ahead in the 4th. The crowd, announcers....they were all in shock. Except that guy on YouTube who put his head through the the glass door.

Nobody expected us to win in the end.

GO DAWGS!!!

Also, they rushed 6 and went straight man with no safety on the 4th and 10 game winning TD play. It's like we knew it was coming and had the right play called and the line gave him enough time to get it thrown even though they were outnumbered.

That would imply the coaches knew what they were doing. Impossible.

Don't you think they did that?We passed 50+ times and we also put the ball in iMAC's hands in multiple running plays

I honestly don't know what you think Chaney should have done differently.

I'd like to see us spread it out a bit more and run some, but at least we didn't try to run a bunch yesterday when they clearly didn't want to let us.

I wasn't talking about what they should've done differently against Mizzou. With the way that game was going, we didn't have much of a choice but to throw the ball.

I'm saying they need to figure out other ways to run the ball on our opponents with different formations and such. The shotgun runs actually created some running room for Michel and Chubb it seemed. When it was a handoff from under center, they got stuffed at the line.

Yea,I'd like to see how the Ole Miss defense is going to approach us after watching the Mizzou film especially the 2nd half.I think we'll see a little more room in the inside running lanes.

I also think Chamey is a VAST improvement from that idiot we had as our OC last year that maybe I set the bar a little low from what I expect from the play calling. Still, very happy with him so far.

Didn't work out in the end for Mizzou but it's not like we rolled on these guys. This one felt like we stole it.

I agree with you. But, I also think Mizzou is much better than people think. Their offense is drastically better than it was last year, as is Lock. Had we run the same defense in the first half as we did in the second it would have looked MUCH different, though. Add to that 2 missed easy field goals and a dropped easy pass in the end zone.....I can play what if, all day long, but you are correct. We were lucky to come out of that game with a win.

There were several times when Catalina's sole responsibility was to double-team #91. The dude straight whiffed at least twice...left standing there with his dick in his hands looking downfield with no one in front of him.

You have to remember.....#91 is one of the best pass rushers in the SEC. He ranks up there with Time Williams, Arden Key and Myles Garrett. Even the very best Tackles are going to get beaten from time to time.
Give Catalina a little time to get acclimated to the SEC speed and I really think he will be fine.

How you can watch that game and come away thinking the O-line played pretty well?!? I mean I get the whole contrarian angle, but this isn't the conversation to be a contrarian.

When you have 5 OL (6 or 7 with one or two TE) but you have 8 in the box what does that tell you? Somebody is going to be free. Add to that you are putting a RB to help with the DE, and the Nose Guard is pushing an undersized C around and he needs help.....it's all a numbers game.

It matters. A tight spiral usually has more zip and velocity. Yes, it is something that can be corrected, if it is mechanics.
