The reason why Dawg Rant is being redirected to here...

Years ago, SBJ discussed with us the idea of hosting DR on our software. We agreed and we have been hosting DR for a long time. We have never had ownership interest in DR...not in past and not now.

Last year, we decided that we needed to upgrade servers. And we also decided that we didn't want to host external sites anymore (for various reasons).

We told SBJ this, and he started exploring his options. We moved TD and SEC Rant to new servers months ago. But we didn't want to move DR because it had really old software which would have required us to upgrade before moving to new servers. Plus, we were under the assumption that SBJ had found a new home for DR.

So, we told our host company to pull the plug on our old server (that only hosted DR) last week, assuming that a plan was in place to get DR a new home.

Well, I guess things didn't fall into place for SBJ, so he was left redirecting to SR at last minute.

If the Dawg Rant is started up again, it will be on someone else's server using someone else's software.

For those Dawg fans that have migrated over here and aren't happy with how we run this site, you are free to find another place to call home. No one is forcing you to post here.

I read this board to learn about UGA Football and get the perspective of UGA fans. Hopefully this board will become more about UGA sports and less about people being uncomfortable on a new site with unfamiliar rules.
