If you want to go you better get tickets now. And a hotel now. That’s a 100k event same weekend. No thanks. SEC must have not thought of that dumb shite. Just giving you fair wait warning

That’s going to be an absolute nightmare….

I meant just the formula 1 is a 100k event lol. It’s going to be a nightmare no doubt. Have fun if y’all want to go lol

WG is right. And I think Darrel Royal sits around 100k. There will be a half a million in that city that day. What the hell was the SEC thinking?

Don’t say you weren’t warned

300k for formula1?
Allegedly yes that's what they are expecting to draw for that event that weekend which sounds insane to me. I already booked an Airbnb last week for Friday Saturday and then probably going to stay in San Antonio thursday. Haven't booked flights yet but I'm sure they're going to be pricey.

My neighbor is really into Formula 1 racing, it's apparently a really big thing. Austin is not a giant city like Atlanta so traveling there for the UGA-TX game at the same time as an F1 race is going to be a true clusterfrick. Imagine Twilight bike race in Athens on a UGA gameday, times 10 on a clusterfrick scale.

I just booked a hotel room in Temple, TX about an hour NE of Austin. My away game buddy and I are going to road trip that one. Driving from Atlanta to Shreveport/Bossier City on Thursday and staying overnight. Driving 4.5 hours the next morning to Temple. Driving an hour on Saturday morning to Austin to set up a tailgate. Then back to Temple after the game for Saturday night stay. Going to try to knock out the 12 hour drive home on Sunday but will probably end up stopping somewhere like Vicksburg and driving the remainder home on Monday.

Austin is already ground zero for smug doosh bags, and with Formula 1 in town that might be a little overwhelming.

Booked one way flight into San Antonio this morning for Thursday the 17th. Still have to get flight back home Sunday, lodging in S.A. Thursday, and rental car.

My younger cousin has a townhome next to the Stadium (literally 50 yards away). He offered his place but I am reconsidering the offer since its Formula 1 weekend also.
That city is a complete shite show to begin with and the homeless population is something else

um wtf? Wouldn't that make it more likely to take him up on it?
If you don't want it, can I get a GSB discount if I take it?

It's too many people for my liking
I was just there for a wedding halloween weekend and it was a shite show from all of the college students.
I cannot imagine all of the F1 crowd + Dawg fans + UT fans being there. You cannot move around

Flights out of Austin are insane so I just booked out of San Antonio for that sunday. I guess I'm ok with driving 60-90 minutes Sunday morning to the airport if it is literally a third of the cost of flying from Austin.

The further north you go that weekend, the less you’ll probably have to deal with traffic. The F1 track is by the airport southeast of the city.
It’s absolutely absurd the SEC chose that weekend to put Georgia at Texas knowing how many people would travel in for that game, but oh well.

I imagine hotel rates will start around 400 a night. Yah, bad planning by the SEC. I'm sure a lot of UGA people would have traveled for that game but not now unless you have plenty of money.
