run game as they ran the ball on almost 60% of their snaps.

347-251.

This is Tennessee's Run/Pass ratio. It cannot be understated just how important establishing the running game is to the rythm and tempo of their offense. I'm losing my mind on the rant with everyone chirping about their passing game, as if they are a passing team. They ain't. Hooker just hits big passes when defenses get caught cheating up for the run, or out of position or mismatched because of the tempo they are running.

He arse fricked that Bama safety all night long because of this. He's going to have a bad time, come Saturday, ESPECIALLY if he finds himself HAVING to win the game with his arm with UGA knowing this to be the case.

Passing yards don't scare me. It's passing yards on few attempts behind an efficient run that would worry me.

We have the personnel to frick that run game up. It will make the difference.

Losing Nolan hurts.

But if we can play early downs with Jalen Carter, we are better than having Nolan and no jalen.

Disrupting the middle. Not giving a spot to step up. And a spy to take his shot the moment Hendon leaves his protection....

I love the potential safety play that we have with tykee, Bullard, csmith29, and starks. We can win this game with pressure from 3 or 4 and an aggressive spy. We can win this game with well timed 5 man blitz.

Yep.

We will win. And, honestly, I don't believe it's close. IF Tennessee scores less than 30, this game is going to be nasty as frick, lopsided for us.

The alter/trolls on the Rant have the real UT fans so pumped up for a victory, I almost feel bad for them. They've showed up and shown out, and as soon as UGA breaks it off in them, they will disappear and leave the real Vol fans there to deal with the fallout.

When Carter was out Bear gained valuable game time experience. He has been a force as a freshman. Carter and Bear on the field at the same time on certain packages is what I'm looking forward to see vs the Vols.

Absolutely. I believe Bear will be another Davis...

I think he is more of a Wyatt (which is a great thing).

I don't see another Jordan Davis on the roster. Stackhouse seems to be the best NT currently on the roster.
We are loaded with elite talent at 3 tech, though. Carter, bear, Logue, and Brinson have all shown the ability to disrupt the OL at 3 tech.

Everyone seems nervous about us being able to score 40. We have been doing this consistently. Also, with the speed Tennessee plays we will get more possessions. It’s not an ideal situation to have to score 40, but I don’t think there is any question as to if we can.

A Tennessee fan posted this but I have skewed the numbers a bit.

Tennessee scores 33 or less: 100% chance UGA wins (we are getting 34+)

Tennessee scores 34-44: 50/50 sliding scale. Maybe last possession wins.

Tennessee scores 45+; Tennessee has an 80% chance of winning

I have the score 42-30 fwiw.

I like that score, if the 30 comes on a late TD. If we figure them out, 17-24 is about what I'd imagine UT could put up.

I'm standing firm on my comment from the rant about 40+. If you come from the future and tell me that UT scored 40+, I'd have to bet that UT won.

I'll happily eat that crow if they score 40+ and we win.

I figure that Tennessee gets 2 TDs on busts.

They drive the field 4 more times in field goal range. How we do on those 4 drives determines the game (field goals? TDs? Or turnovers. Maybe even turnovers on downs).

My heart can't take the busted plays. I about fricking keeled over when UF hit that bomb Saturday.

But, yes, they are probably good for one or two of those, receiver breaking free I'm busted coverage.

That's six possessions. Seems low. I like it. Any stat nerd have any statistics on possessions per game, for both teams?

42 or 49 to 28 is how I see it. Hold them to roughly half their output.

I think we shorten the game with long drives and go for the throat on bonus possessions. Zone is when they feast but i do think we largely stop their run game.

Bama took the best pass rusher in football and had him drop in coverage. Thats fireable in ans of itself.

It does but Robert Beal is no slouch. He’s a senior and now is his chance to improve his draft stock.

I expect them to have more than 6 possessions.
But I expect 3 and outs, 1 first down and punt, etc..
I only expect them to drive the field (or benefit from a short field) to threaten additional scores about 4 more times (on top of the 2 busted coverages).

I don't think Tennessee cares if we go hurry up or try to shorten the game.
They are going to run their hurry up offense regardless. 90 second TDs is their goal.

So I don't care if we go tempo or not. The key is to score points on each drive. I don't mind field goals as much as many dawg fans as long as we are putting up points every time we get the ball. No punts. No turnovers. Tennessee will give us the ball back for another try.

Bama had 11 drives. 5 TDs and 6 field goals is 53 points. Just sayin.

Compared to Nolan, Beal is a slouch. That is how high I hold Nolan. He is special. Sunday player out there on Saturdays.

Beal will be the beneficiary of Jalen Carter on Saturday. He may actually put up better numbers than Nolan. Jalen is that dude.

I have a feeling we will be ok. Just watched this Top Billin video. Everyone is high on TN and giving UGA no chance.

The noise made by cheering fans is no match for the decibels created by a hi-tech stadium sound system. While watching the previous GA, AL and KY games played at TN, I noticed their PA system blaring rock music up until just 1 or 2 seconds before the ball is snapped -- makes it impossible for the QB to call out for last second adjustments. It also makes it impossible to call out plays (hurry offense) or audibles at the LOS. I also noticed when TN had the ball and broke the huddle, the music stopped, allowing TN to call plays and make adjustments.

We need to give unto them what they gave to us.

I noticed that too and I kept asking “aren’t they supposed to stop that once the ball is set***?”

Dude, do you really think that UGA stands no chance to win if we give up 40+? You posted that on the rant.

Thankfully, we will never know. Feels fricking great to have a coach that believes that defense is still worthy of attention.
