Make that the first verse, not the bridge.
Also run the lyric ideas through different genres, rock, rap, etc, as a 3rd draft. Then fourth draft back into folk. Don't get set into a musical hook just yet. You've got something here. And don't forget the roux.

This was a long ordeal so compressing it into something reasonable will be tough. I don’t want it too long but need to do it justice.

Use pen and paper. Writing lyrics out by hand is better.
