No you didn't. You said it originally...but when I showed we we do play a traditional SEC schedule you said this...:
What comes to mind when someone says a difficult SEC schedule?
I stand corrected. I guess I was looking at the the wrong post when I looked back at it, though the meaning never changed.

Football is cyclical based on countless variables. In this day and age, there is a direct correlation between monies spent and winning. There are exceptions, but the money helps with recruiting, scouting and training... I think that beating your rivals carries a lot more weight than you younger whipper snappers realize. We didn't have the BCS and even the SEC Championship game. We had Florida, Auburn, and Tech... With Clemson and UT as a second tier. Beating those three are the bench mark for many of us older dudes. Beating them in a down season is no less sweet. Richt has dominated Auburn and Tech. Same for UT... Y'all have become spoiled with it and have allowed yourself to chase a myth that was never there.
This may be part of it. The whole system has changed drastically from even when I started following football in the mid 90s. I enjoy being able to rub it in to Auburn, GT and Florida fans after a win. It probably doesn't mean as much to me though as the older crowd though.
It goes back to what you said about football being cyclical. I have a historical perspective of what beating Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, or Georgia Tech means as a Georgia fan. However, those games over the last 15-20 years haven't meant quite as much. If I look at the last 15 years which covers just over half of my life. Tech hasn't had any sustained success since O'leary left almost 15 years ago. Tennessee has had some quality seasons, but even then they have been nothing like they were in the 90's when they were top 10 every year.
Florida has never fallen off the map, but the Meyer years were the only really good era since Spurrier left in after 2001. Then there is Auburn who has kind of been all over the place. For someone in my age group, South Carolina has been a bigger rival than either Tennessee or Georgia Tech because of what the rivalry has meant. From a historical perspective, SC has only been in the conference since the early 90's and they were a doormat until Lou Holtz got there. It's all about perspective.

I just did something that I hate when other people do. I knew what you meant, yet tried to turn a change of a word into an advantage. It changes the argument. I apologize, as I knew what you meant.

No worries. I wasn't even looking to do that. I tried to go back to my original post to see exactly what I said and then the word jumped out to me. I didn't put two and two together.
