Mason in my eyes is a 6-3 Murray albeit with less arm strength. His accuracy should be compareable if not better.

Brice is the white Shockley. Don't know what that means but I loved DJ. He could have possibley led the program to a title if he had free clearing.

No idea other than he is still pretty raw, a year with a redshirt and he starts in my opinion. Spurrier has let quite a few players slip thru his hands. HEAVILY recruited a kid at my old high school who has since verbally committed and I just dont see it....but thats why I dont recruit. Park's high school hasnt had the best record the past couple of years but this year I think they are 5-0 and play AJ's old school Friday night (Summerville).

Park will start over Ramsey. Bookmark this. You heard it here 1st. Park is w/o a doubt one of the most talented QB's Richt has ever recruited.

I'd take that bet.

George Whitfield has seen both and said that Ramsay is head and shoulders better coming out of HS.

Spurrier wanted 4* Kentucky QB Drew Barker more & he put all of his eggs in that basket but he committed to UK. By that time Park was solid Dawg...

Clemson wanted Watson outta Ga. & got him so they didn't pursue Park...

Gotta remember Park is a big tall pro style QB, Watson is like Boyd at CU, better fit for them...

Bama wanted Park bad...he chose us so the Oklahoma kid Cornwell committed to Bama the next day...

Pretty sure that was the other way around..... Park kicked arse at e11 and the other kid hastily committed to bama, then i think same day, park committed to the G.

Funny, before i saw this I was goin to make a similar thread. We have a bright future. I honestly believe next year we will be a better complete team. Our young defense wont be young anymore and we are loooooaded. Offense will drop, but still will be very dinimic. We are too worried about qb. Look how many targets we have. Loaded at WR, offensive line, and RB. We have no worries and that makes me feel great about being a GA Bulldog. Especially having coworkers and a good friend that are UF fans

I tried to listed to Park talk, but it was terrible. Sounds like Pulpwood.

I agree with you and George. BR had a cannon for an arm and a ton of potential coming out of high school.

So....given all these stars in waiting...does it make sense to have a one and done year with Mason or would the year be better spent getting a new guy in the mix? I know that Mason has paid his dues but would a year of training for a new QB serve us better in the long run?

Curious as to the general consensus.....

The biggest question IMO is if/when Mike Bobo leaves.

Boy he's really improved from straight swag to into the top tier of coordinators. Good for him, but his departure is inevitable.

Can his replacement match his production and produce a similar quarterback play?

Okay. So the "when" scenario. Who takes the reigns? Is it Bobo? Richt again? Or does Richt find a new protege? Maybe Murray!

Coaches have said that the best player will start and it makes sense. They will not sacrifice a year of ball to prepare for the next.

I feel good about the future of UGA QB's because of the talent we've recruited, but moreso because of Richt/Bobo's track record with QB's. No debating the way those guys have prepped UGA's Quarterbacks.

All that said, I think people are going to realize how special Murray was once he is gone.

True Dat...Joe Cox being the excpetion to the rule...but who knows how bad he would have been elsewhere....

Wasn't Ramsey running the Triple Option in HS? Park is currently running a spread formation. He's faster, stronger arm (not that Ramsey doesn't have a cannon of a arm), and more accurate. He's the better talent overall.

You play the better QB, period. As much potential (potential being the very key word) as our young bucks have, I would be surprised if they give us a better chance to win in 2014 than Mason. Let's not forget Mason obliterated several GA state passing records, he's no slouch. He'll be a 5th year senior, which when it comes to QBs is big as opposed to a freshman. He won't be sweating back there knowing the call, who to check to, how to audible right, etc.

For as good as Stafford, Murray, Shockley, etc are/were...they were a mere shell of their awesome selves as freshmen. The flashes were there sure, but they also made some awful awful decisions, all of them. If Mason gives us the best chance to win ball games (which I think, this far out, he does) then he should play.
