Yep. All the closet GT fans come out of nowhere, they come out of the woodwork, and gloat for years.

After the last loss in 2016, GT put up a billboard on 316 where it terminates at 10 Loop saying "We Run This State".

They are absolutely insufferable.

Dropping tech so we can play Ohio state instead sure doesn't do that either

Potentially losing to OSU in a 12+ team playoff world is not really a problem compared to essentially being disqualified from highly publicized OOC games for the foreseeable future.

Losing regular season games is always a problem. Exchanging a game you will almost always win (against a P4 no less) for a game you will go 50/50 in winning does not help our program.

And even if we win, what's the payoff? Better chance at the playoffs? We've already got by beating tech. In today's world it really just makes zero sense for UGA.

If you're an indiana or Oregon state or some mid tier program that needs a signature win, sure. But we don't need that.

Getting rid of the GT game would be stupid.

If you want to get rid of games, get rid of Austin Peay.

Having every talking head hype the program for a month after winning a huge game that every college football fan in the country watched.

UGA gets no credit for beating Tech at this point. They are so irrelevant nationally that it’s not a lot different than beating Vanderbilt.

UGA won’t get rid of Ap because they want the home games.

that happend last year when we demolished clemson. did it help our playoff chances?

-Winning that game didn't put is in the playoffs any mor ethan beating Marshall would have in their place
-Losing that type of game for our 3rd loss very well could have hurt us in the postseason bigly.

No, but I bet Kirby didn’t hate it while recruiting. In a world where players are choosing schools based on marketability, we need as much attention as possible.

I would imagine the SEC is pushing other conferences to play 9 games. Either way, the SEC is tougher top to bottom than all the conferences. The Big 10 is like the big 3. This will put strength of schedule selection to the test. There may be some at the AD that suggest tossing out the Tech game but I think the older alumni would never let that happen. They did toss out the Clemson/Ga rivalry and that one was huge.
