Hearing Fountain has done well in ST's and is a great recruiter...
True?
Surprised at the staff Pittboss is putting together.

They were solid but also had some wtf moments this year.

ST outside of Hot Rod was abysmal.

Going into the conference championship games our special teams were ranked #1 in S&P+ so I think Fountain did a damn good job. Still expendable though since we clearly need some help on the offensive staff.

Camarda was inconsistent,
we had zero KR/PR for TDs,
didn't block a single punt or FG,
No onside kick recoveries with only 1 attempt,
and it took us 14 games to attempt our first fake FG, which was thankfully successful.

That's a pretty high bar. I thought the few returns we did get were pretty good.

I think they were solid on special teams. Good on return coverages. Blocking good on kicks and punts.
Fake calls are on the HC. Seems like the only fake was successful, so that was good.
Missed kicks were on the kicker as far as I recall. A few dropped punts which hurt, but they should have been caught.

Dropped punts and Carmada either being boom or bust on his punts were my biggest issues with ST.

I glanced at conference rankings for returns. We were middle of the pack.
Not bad. Not great. Only 2 teams actually had TDs (and those could have been against the cupcakes)

Agree on the punter. He went through a few head issues i think. Kid has a great leg, but needs more consistent punts.
The kicker obviously had a lot of great kicks and did a good job getting most kicks into the end zone... but damn, he missed a few really important ones over his career.

I thought Camarda made big strides. Our kickoff and punt coverage was good.
Am I missing something?
Our punt and kickoff returning was not great, but certainly god and I felt more of that was due to the talent we had to return the kicks more than anything.

He did. But he also had several shanks that cost us.
