Griffin called the UGA vs UAB game that began with Stetson going 5 for 5 for 245 yards and 4 TDs. Griffin gave a ho hum response and talked about unrelated bullshite. I was pissed.

Love a good grudge like this.

He was corny as frick so I agree. Maybe Mark Jones' racist arse will be next.

Most will disagree, but I’d rather listen to Beth Mowens than him.

I have watched other games he co-announced as well, thought he was horrible, so it's not a homer thing for me. He is just a horrible announcer.

Gifted athlete, won the Heisman, got some NFL money, then because "he speaks so well" he got a broadcast job. He sucks at broadcasting live. He is better suited for one of those scripted talking head TV panels.

He was bad at his job and went off on stupid stereo typical rants about untruths.

Ponder on the other hand, they are dumbasses, she supports girls in girls sports. Not controversial.

Didn't he have some retarded analogy about Stet being crucified like Jesus or something?

He leaned into the quirky bit a little too much.

Found it. It was LSU vs Ole Miss last season.

Your link is some girl talking about the game. Where's the vid of RGIII talking about Stet and Jesus?

You have to be pretty terrible to get fired by espn with RG3’s DEI and player resumé. And 100%, the Sam Ponder firing was coupled with his by espn as a ploy to divert any accusations of racism for firing a black male.

It actually screams racism that any network would let someone as awful and disliked as RG3 call games. It’s as if they feel sorry for him.

The link is to the story about RGIII's asinine Jesus analogy. I misremembered who it was about. He used it in reference to Jayden Daniels, not Stet.

My impression was that because Stetson was an undersized walkon Griffin was determined to say almost nothing good about him. I can't understand how any fan could ignore that amazing performance. I've got that game and a lot of Stetson's others on my hard drive. I wish I had them all.

BTW, I took a screenshot of my thread starter and posted it to Griffin's twitter account.

I don't pay a lot of attention to these talking heads calling games. I guess that is the reason Gary Danielson never bothered me much, although he always wanted to talk about Saban and Alabama regardless of who was actually playing on the telecast.

I have heard some dumb comments from some of these people. I am not sure they all understand the rules of the game.

Disney is an evil-infested place. They fired Samantha Ponder because she had the audacity to say that men should not play against women in organized sports. I hope she gets picked up by some network.

I liked Gary Danielson. He called it how he saw it. He'd slob whoever was doing well, which is kinda part of the job function during a live broadcast. Alabama was really good at murdering their opponents, so Gary is going to say lots of nice things about Alabama. Gary said lots of nice things about Joe Burrow and he said lots of nice things about Georgia over the years. If you want positive attention, earn it. People think he's biased against their team if he says something positive about Alabama during the course of Alabama beating the shite out of you. It's not bias. It's him doing his job.

His takes are hot enough for me to find him entertaining in that context, definitely think it fits him better than play by play.

Here's the deal with Beth. I could listen to her call a baseball game. She's like a female Ben Ingram.

Nothing about her tone or cadence translates to play by play college football.

I don't hate Beth. I hate that ESPN took her off softball duty and put her in the unachievable position of calling football games. Were it not for her lucrative pay, I'd actually feel sorry for her.
